Cons: Cheap components (shorted after 2 weeks) If you plan on buying a cpu cooler watch out, most dont fit because of the vreg cooler even though they say it fits ... it wont trust me. Installation can be a hassle with big cpu coolers. Very crappy CPU power inlet on the board will make you scream.... its nearly impossible to plug in. Only for Nvidia users.
Pros: Good performance (While it worked), has good OC potential. Looks good. |

Cons: unable to use pci-e slot in sli, very slow post times (weakness?)
Pros: Overclocks like a champ, tri-sli and crossfire, dual and triple channel ram, can be pushed way pass its ratings, lots of usb ports, rear clear cmos button is your friend, led read-out posts cpu temp Comment:
I love this mobo. I wanted the classified but this will definitely do for now. Paired with an i7 920 D0, this mobo hits clock speeds only dreamt of. I still can't believe I'm getting 60% OC on air. It takes a bit of getting use to it because there are so many parameters you can tweak. I found the post times are scarily slow. The hotspots on this mobo are the VREG and cpu when you approach 4+Ghz. They can get very hot. The chipset stays cool though. If you don't have money for triple channel ram right away, you can still use your old dual channel ram and if you did some benchmarks you would see that this mobo makes dual channel ram run faster. I got better benchs using the same dual channel ram on this mobo than with my 790i digital! The only thing I wasn't sure about was the fact that this mobo makes you use the first 2 pci-e 16x slots when in sli (unlike the 790i). Overall, I am very impressed and would recommend this mobo to anyone. |

Cons: none
Pros: Layout, Overclockability and looks good Comment:
this is an awesome Board. This board does not offer the best performance at stock settings but if you plan on Overclocking, it will get you where you want to go. Very overclock friendly and performs very well. And it has one of the best layout a board can get. The only one thing is, it's hard to plug the 8pin power supply connector to the Motherboard if you have big handsI highly recommend this board This review was modfied by poster @ 06-18-09 07:51 AM |

Cons: 8 pin cpu power in an awkward spot.
Pros: over clocks like nuttin... alot of expandability. Comment:
this thing gives my i7 920 a 21X multiplier. seems to have problems booting now and then with g.skill 3x2gb ddr3 1600 in triple channel. hopefully a bios update will fix it.. overclocks easily just following the guide on the evga forums. http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=561984i got 4.2 ghz with just a cpu host frequency of 200.. shouldnt it be 4ghz then? haha im so confused... lol all i know is it smokes. im still trying to grasp how easy it is to overclock. its just unreal. cpu temps are idle #1 44 # 2 42 #3 44 #4 40, my ultra eXtreme 120-1366 barely fits.. overal a great board. |

Cons: have to update the bios for 3g MEMORY
Pros: NICE LOOKINGEASY TO INSTALL Comment:
its a really nice board as long as you don't run into the problems i did. on-board post that displays cpu temp after post....great heatsinks on northbridge and southbridge...comes with all the cables you need and more....lots of USB ports...comes with a nice OC utility....uses intel i7 and ddr3 memory |
I bought this board because I had the EVGA FTW 750i before.. needed to upgrade. When I received it, it took me nearly 5 hours to install... because of my Noctua CPU cooler. I powered it on installed Win 7 x64 no problem. But when I start^playing any game (real games or emulators) my pc had freezing problems.... so I sent it to a computer shop to get it check and fixed and it turns out my board was shorted because of two of the spacers under my board were faulty.... So I called EVGA to get an RMA.... they refused and said it was my fault there was a short.... So never again will I buy an EVGA product....
