Hard drive compatibility hasn't been updated since 2008 - limited drive support

This product shouldn't even be sold - Adaptec hasn't updated drivers or firware on it since 2007/8. The hard drive compatibility list has also not been updated since then. It doesn't support 1.5 TB Western Digital Drives - I Emailed Adaptec and their response was "These drives have not been tested - we recommend only using drives that have been tested to work with this product." And the bummer is we got stuck with a 15% restocking fee from NCIX because of Adaptec's crappy product. Sorry Adaptec, we'll stick with Highpoint and 3Ware... |
Overall an excellent entry level product that supports a bootsble raid array. Shame the other reviewer didnt do their homework and wants to divert their error and frustration elsewhere.
