When I ordered this cord, I was originally buying it for a portable 500GB external hard drive. I made the mistake of not reading the measurements properly and didn't realize how long this cable really is! This cable is a little long for such a small hard drive, but it is still a nice cable for the price. I noticed a minimal drop in transfer speed, but that is to be expected with an extremely long cable, and the transfer speed is still more than useable.
