Replacement fan for Pavilion 7940 Desktop with 500Mhz PIII and has been running for a few weeks just fine. Fit correctly, runs quietly, no problems, Just for reference, heat sink size and fit are identical but it does have slightly smaller fan housing.

I bought this as a replacement for a circa 2001 Compaq for a relative. It is quiet and appears to work just fine. Great price and as always fast shipping with TigerDirect.

Good quality fan for the money. There are quieter fans out there but not at this price. Easily installed. Tight clips keep the heat sink in good contact with CPU for proper cooling.

I purchased this item to replace the OEM heatsink/fan on a P3 system (45Watt cpu). This product is superior because it has a metal clip instead of the plastic cam-lock that breaks after being exposed to heat for several years. I wouldn't recommend a heatsink/fan this small for a much larger cpu.

although hard to find amongst all of the choices out there, this product has fired up on first try and has yet to show any signs of fatigue or failure. loaded on an aging hp pavillion of 5 -6 years old it was an easy replacement of original, although a little tighter squeeze to clip on; cant complain for the money

Stuck this on an Athlon XP 2000+, it idles at 66C. Needless to say it does not do an adequate job of cooling. The clips that hold it to the motherboard are flimsy and bent when I was installing the thing. You don't get much for five dollars.

Its got an annoying hum for 3 hours when first used. After that annoying hum goes away. Its completely silent. This was to replace a heatsink inside my Dell Dimension L733r. (Currently using this computer until I get my other one fixed, got ATI 9280 128Mb Pci card inside for playing half life 2 at 800 x 600)

I am using this on a 1.8GHz Duron, and have been very happy with its performance. There are a lot quiter fans on the market, but for the price, it works great. No need to buy thermal compound; its already on the heatsink.

I swapped this fan (kept my old heatsink) in for a dying cpu fan on my Athlon 750. Athlons tend to run pretty hot (even though I don't overclock) but even this tiny 50mm fan seems to keep it cool enough to stay healthy. It's quietness is mediocre, but then again, I bought this to be a quick replacement. I do audio recording so eventually I'll probably upgrade to a *real* quiet fan, but this will do for now.

The original heatsink and fan on my Dell Dimension 2100 Celeron 900Mhz processor was slowing down and vibrating with a loud hum. So I bought this to replace it. It works great. I do not find it noisy like the other reviewer does. My PC has a new lease on life! Just one surprise: The bottom pad on this unit, where it sits on the CPU, is covered with a fine layer of lithium grease. Maybe it helps with the cooling? Go figure. Anyway, like I said, Masscool does the job.
