Cons: Does not track well on textured surfaces

Pros: High build quality, nice materials, great software, perfect tracking
Comment:
This mouse is very high quality, the material feels very nice and the simplicity and shape are perfect. The software allows easy customization of just about everything with this mouse, the only thing I dislike is the inability to change the button for selecting DPI. One thing to make mention of is that this mouse does not like rough surfaces. I have yet to try it on a cloth pad but it did not like my slightly textured rocketfish pad, I took it off and it tracks almost perfectly on my desk. I purchased a teflon pad that I believe will be perfect for this mouse.Overall I would purchase it again. I tried many mice including the death adder and several logitechs and settled on this. The build quality is just above and beyond the competition.

Cons: Ambidextrous design might not be for allWheel click a little too hard to press

Pros: Extremely good trackingEliminates all software predictionFinest attention to detail in driver/software

Simply the best gaming mouse i've used, and I've tried them all. Glides and tracks (almost) flawlessly.Have tried the Lachesis, RAT 9, G700 and this mouse simply trumps them all. Don't be fooled by its simplistic styling. It's all business.Software both onboard and in windows is no BS clean and straightforward / elegant.Quality hardware feel and texture.

Cons: - None

Pros: - Suitable for left-handed users.- Comfortable.- Programmable buttons.
Comment:
Overall I think this is a fantastic mouse. As a left-handed gamer I've had some difficulty finding a suitable gaming mouse, as many of the options I tried were poor quality or had problems with the drivers. The Xai, however, seems to have it all. The construction feels solid and the drivers are fully featured and reliable. There is one tiny issue - the mouse wheel is a little bit loud when you scroll it. This is hardly a huge problem and some users may not even care at all.The standard price is a little high in my opinion, but I got it on sale for $59.99 which made it a excellent product for the money.

Cons: Software is a bit odd in places

Pros: Nice design and shape.Good resolution.
Comment:
This is a decent gaming mouse. I purchased it for my main gaming computer to replace a Microsoft Intellimouse.I've tried a number of wired and wireless mice, mostly Logitech and Microsoft, and they usually have a bulky shape. This Steelseries has a nice palm fitting shape, IMHO better than the bulky Logi/MS mice. You have to install the software to get the most out of this mouse. The software is decent and is what you would expect. The two minor complaints that I have are: once you program the mouse with a new resolution setting it tends to move really fast at a higher res than you set, forcing you to toggle the LED button by the wheel to get it working back to proper; and secondly it is a bit slow in updating the profiles into the mouse, so if you even make one simple change to the settings, you must wait for the entire reprogramming of the mouse. Once you have the mouse set up as you like though, this won't be an issue. This mouse has a very accurate and gliding feel, and works awesome on the Steelseries gaming mouse pads.

Cons: Scroll wheel

Pros: Software is fantasticPlug and play on ANY PC once setupSuperior trackingVery comfortable
Comment:
I've owned and used almost every popular gaming mouse over the past few years and none have the same overall package as the Xai! Tracking in FPS games is incredible, with the ability to fine tune every setting and then use those settings on ANY PC this mouse is perfect for anybody who plays competitively or is just a gaming enthusiast.I have owned the Razer Mamba, Logitech G9, Steelseries Ikari Laser, G5, and have used almost every mouse imaginable. This mouse puts them all to shame! The Mamba is comfortable to use and the wireless features are nice, but the tracking in games is NOT as good and a squeaky scroll wheel and firmware issues have left me looking for something better (especially after playing $140 for it)The G9's only feature that I enjoyed was the fantastic scroll wheel. I would EASILY pay extra for a similar scroll wheel in any other mouse. The Ikari was the most natural of my old mice. It just worked, was comfortable, and tracked well. It was not as precise as the Xai and the software was weak in comparison. If a person is looking for the best mouse available, and is willing to spend the money to get it, then this is the mouse for them. It just does everything right!

Cons: - Way too expensive at 100$ though it's already better than the Mamba's price/quality ratio.- Not really a weakness but hell.. I'm a high-sens user and even at 1.0 sensivity in QuakeLive, 5000cpi was way too fast.- Would had prefered side buttons to be lower so my thumb could have more easily rest on them.- Mouse wheel is still cheap and loud like on the Ikari.

Pros: - The smoothest material ever used! The feeling by the touch is anything but cheap and doesn't feel like ur usual rubber from Razer that wear off quickly.- VERY accurate.- Much more DPI than u'll ever gonna need.- The most confortable ambidextrous mouse without any doubt.- Cheap if PM.- Great software and easy firmware update.
Comment:
I don't know why Steelseries use the best material for everything but still put a cheap lame mouse wheel. Other than that it's the perfect mouse imo. There is very few ambidextrous mouse. The second best would be the Lachesis, far enough behind. I'm just not quite good yet at QL as I really need to get use to the mouse. Somehow even 4000DPI feels a little too fast but 3200 on the Ikari or 4000 on the Lachesis was perfect. Oh by the way it works obviously without any issue on the SS 4HD pad since it was designed to be used on it. Here's the mouse I've had:- Logitech MX1000- Razer Copperhead- Razer Diamondack3G- Razer Lachesis- Logitech G5- Steelseries Ikari- Microsoft Habu- Steelseries Xai
