Cons: A) BigB) Noisy when printing. C) Printer has a rather noisy ventilator on its side which does not shut down automatically when printing stops, but a few minutes later. D) USB cable not included.

Pros: A)Super crisp printouts of text. B)Big paper tray: accepts ~300 sheetsC)Has a parallel port so I see that as a plus as I don't have to tie up one of my USB ports, but instead use Parallel.
Comment:
PRINT QUALITY:The quality of the printouts is really great there is no question about it. (But truth to be told. I've had an HP LaserJet 1100 prior to this one and if I compare the printouts from the two the quality is pretty much identical). DUPLEX feature:This is definitely a plus. However, so far I've noticed it does not work all that well. Especially if I used the manual tray. If there are more than one pieces of paper it will grab TWO sheets and print one side on one sheet, and the other side on the second sheet. Not very impressed! However, duplex works fine when tray is used. SIZE:This printer is BIG. The LaserJet I owned had a much smaller footprint. This one takes just too much space. So if you value space go with one of the smaller alternatives.NOISE LEVEL:One thing I'm finding annoying with this printer is that it is definitely noisy when it prints. AND unfortunately this is the case for a few minutes even when it stops printing. Namely, there is a ventilator on its left side which does not immediately go into a stand-by mode after printing is over, but instead it continues going for another couple of minutes. - I am used to peace and quiet so this is deffinitely a big change. In fact due to this I am considering selling it (since I can not return it) and buying an HP printer. They are a bit more expensive but worth every penny.

Pros: fast , great quality printing, sharp

just opened up and installed this printer today. ran a few test pages and i am surprised by the quality and speed. prints fast and very clean and sharp. a little loud but who cares. for $87 you cant go wrong, duplex is nice too. only wish it had a network connection. like other reviewer said, they could have included a usb cable.

I got this printer for $82.50 after a price match. Also price matched the 3.5K toner cartridge for $57.60. At these prices this is an excellent mono laser printer. The print quality is great, it prints fast, and it duplexes. The printer is noisy while printing, but it quickly quietens down when it enters power save mode.

Good price and good printer but duplex printing is MANUAL!!! So I think that it's incorrect to put such words in the printer name string.

Cons: A little loud

Pros: Very fast, good quality printing, can purchase replacement cartridge for about $25 online

Great value at $87, haven't used it much but has been awesome thus far. It was a little tricky to set up initially probably because I was a laser virgin, but certainly happy I made the switch. Once you go laser, you never go back.

Cons: - Size- Lack of printer cable either parallel nor USB- Universal instructions misleading -- no network port- Drivers must be installed from included disc

Pros: - Price- Performance- Laser trumps inkjet
Comment:
This is my first laser printer (i've always used inkjet up to this point) and i've never used nor heard of the brand Oki before, but now i'm a believer in this company. The sale price of $88 from its original of $204 due to overstock levels was a great thing for consumers, also helps that when you can pricematch the separate toner cartridge to a very fair and affordable price. The performance compared to the inkjets i've used before can not be done, as my opinion may be bias, but I preferred this printer for monochrome as the consistency it produces (printed maybe 15 odd copies of income taxes and all at the quality). Seeing as it's also laser, the paper tray is a godsend and so is the speed at shooting out multiple pages of monochrome pages. The weaknesses I can point out are very minor. The size of the machine itself is quite large, so if you're gonna put it on your desk, make sure there's a fair amount of table space. The printer lacked the USB cable... true it could be bought for as little as $1.50, but at that low cost, should've been included. Although the instructions of unpacking, setting up the toner, etc was all straight forward, the universal instructions gave me the impression that my printer may have had a network port as an alternative to the USB or parallel, too bad I had to double check to verify that this was not the version which had it. The drivers themselves had to be installed from the disc as Windows could not find the drivers, not a big deal.Overall, solid product and at $88, i'd recommend this printer to anyone only doing monochrome.

Cons: loud

Pros: fast, easy to setup, double-sided printing, cheap
Comment:
My first laser printer, grabbed it on sale 3 weeks ago, making it a fantastic deal. Its quality pales in comparison to the inkjet I used to own but I like the consistency. Inkjets tend to degrade in quality as time goes by. The double-sided printing is ingenious, how it sucks the paper back in and prints on the other side. It should reduce my paper costs a lot!

Got this on sale for $87, figure that's quite a steal of a deal! Small amount of trouble getting working through Airport Extreme though.Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit was able to pick up the printer and install drivers without a hitch, though I did install the drivers from the CD first. However, when plugged into the USB port of my Airport Extreme wireless router, the printer was visible however wouldn't print using the OKI B410 driver that DID work when plugged directly into my computer. After much trials to get it working, figuring my driver was correct, I tried using the OKI B420 driver and it worked like a charm. Go figure! Wasn't even able to print to it using the OKI B410 driver when the printer was just shared through a Mac on my network. Possibly that would affect other routers with USB ports on them, as I'm connecting to it directly by the router IP and not using Bonjour (Bonjour didn't work at all from my PC).Draws a good amount of power when printing, I can notice a dimming of my room lights, but my vaccuum does that too. However after it goes into sleep mode it's 100% quiet (after waiting a minute for the fans to spin down).Good stuff!

Cons: Very LOUD! No ethernet.

Pros: Excellent per-page price.
Comment:
Great printer and very economical to run. The life of the drum (25000 pages) is roughly the expected life of a home printer. Note that the drum costs more than the printer. However, the 3500-page cartridges are only $57, making the per-page cost spectacular even when factoring in the cost of the printer.

I have this in my server room so the fact that it is a bit louder than some is not a problem, installation and set-up is a breeze and Windows7-64bit drivers are available on their website. The drivers are a bit better than average, there are lots of things you can tweak. The starter cartridge isn't a bad size.....1500 pages claimed.

We bought two and they are a great value for the price. They are a little noisy when printing but this printer prints fast. For us the noise is not a problem as these printers are used only for brief periods of time. If you intend to do a lot of printing you may find the noise a problem, other than that it is a great printer for the value. Imagine an auto duplex printer for under $100.

Cons: - May be a little noisier than some laser printers when printing.- No network port, so you will need a print server (or printer sharing) for multiuser access (OpenSuse Linux works great for this with the ppd file specified above).

Pros: - Fast (30 ppm)- Great price (especially on sale from NCIX).- Very good print quality, accurate grey scales.- Front manual feed for envelopes and such; nearly straight-through paper path when rear exit panel is open.- Economical to operate, separate toner cartridge can be replaces independently of print drum.- Seems easy on electricity (lights do not dim when printing, unlike some other laser printers).- Easy to access internals if you need to clear paper.- Little to go wrong, as no complex laser optics (just uses a LED array, which can be wiped off with a soft cloth to clean). - Duplexes...saves paper.- Works in Windows, OSX and Linux (with Linux ppd file from:(http://microsoft_rules.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=256031)
Comment:
Excellent printer, fast, duplexes to save paper, seems well-constructed. LED array instead of laser optics. Easy to keep clean. Cost per sheet about $0.02 (including paper).

I am thrilled with this printer's performance! It is a little loud during the print operation but no more so than other laserjets. The print quality is excellent and to get duplexing and Energy Star compliance also can't be matched for the price! Highly Recommended!!

It's too noisy to keep on all the time, and the printing of pdf documents isn't as 'crisp' as with my old printer, but for occasional printing on a budget, it's great. The toner also comes in drums, which (supposedly) can reduce your printing costs to about 2 cents per page - much better than my old printer! Still, if fan noise bothers you and you can afford it, buy something a little higher end for the peace of mind.

I was a little scared at first when the fan started. It was noisy and I thought it would stay on forever but it soon turned off when the unit cooled down. Very fast, very economical, very clear. The print could be a hair darker. Yes, I'd buy another.

For a $100, this printer has performance specs far beyond the competition even against printers that are twice as expensive. I wanted fast, cheap, automatic duplex printing and it delivers on all fronts. It's not a pretty machine, but it is an excellent monochrome laser for home and school use.
