This is a wired headset (earpiece?) that will plug directly into your 360 controller like the stock headset. It has in-line (on the cord) volume/mute and mic boost feature. According to friends I've had the best results leaving the mic boost enabled (this goes for both pc and 360).As far as hearing others goes, I've noticed a nice improvment over my stock 360 headset in clarity and volume of voices. It is worth mentioning however that my previous 360 headset was the stock headset received with my first 360 back in 2006.The headset is exceedingly comfortable and light, the only time I've really adjusted it was to make sure it was actually still on my ear (it truly is that light). The mic arm is adjustable to an extent, you cannot bend the arm itself however you can reposition it along the x,y to be closer or farther away from your mouth.This unit comes with a USB adapter to use with a PC, I'm told that I sound very clear on Ventrilo as well. No driver installation was needed and my system (Win7-64) had no issues detecting and installing the adapter. You can also use this headset with a cellular phone or cordless phone if you have the desire to.The primary reason I went with this headset was that I wanted a single, reliable and comfortable device to use for voice chat with my pc and 360, and I didn't need surround headphones as I have a proper surround setup at home. My only concern about this headset would be around it's durability. At first glance the cord used seems to be quite thin, I haven't had any issues with it but could see someone with pets or children potentially damaging it.
