Still mostly functions regardless of a dead lan? ethernet died about 2 months in (I've heard other reviews that stated as much). Flashing the bios to the most recent did nothing at all. I attempted to RMA with MSI directly and immediately after many days of back & forth, they've said that they don't have the motherboard in stock as a replacement and generally mentioned that I ought to send them the board anyway. Considering that this is obviously ridiculous, I just picked up another (NOT MSI) board. This was my initially, and final, expertise with MSI.Also, there have been a pretty continual stream of BSODs on windows 7 when beneath heavy load (ie: gaming). I haven't entirely ruled every little thing else out, but due to the other concerns, I can assume it's the board (If not, I'll post once again).tl;dr - ethernet broke and MSI refused to honor their warranty, claiming the mobo is out of stock. Do not purchase. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued MSI Buyer,We would like to apologize for the challenge you have knowledgeable with this specific mb. Lots of features, has practically anything you may possibly want. Supports latest CPUs. Booted up and ran Windows 7 with no troubles, all drivers updated themselves from my old technique which meant I didn't even have to reinstall windows which you generally have to do when you switch boards. Unlocked 4th core on my X3 with no any issue. No firewire header on board. IDE port is in an inconvenient place in between power & memory, tends to make it tricky to plug in. Bright blue flashing LED next to CPU that indicates CPU energy state, blinks continuously. Incredibly good board, I'd absolutely suggest it. As far as the guy complaining about XP Raid support... come ON... this board was developed in 2010! It has Under no circumstances been simple to install RAID on XP, and if that's what you want, then stick with 2004 hardware and all will be copacetic. The Windows 7 assistance on this board is best.

Its got all the goodies on the board. It has onboard video, SATA III, USB 3. and supports all my favourite extras. No driver difficulties with either Windows7 or any kind of Linux which includes Ubuntu Red Hat LFS. It wouldnt function for like a day of frustrating work mainly because one particular of the screws was messing with the board. I only have 3 screws holding the board down but its not worth taking an egg off. Im gonna use this board for a lengthy long time

Solid-state caps all through whole board, 6Gb/s SATA, integrated graphics work incredibly well for each day use. Inexpensive - got it as a ShellShocker deal w/ 4GB RAM for <贄. Sweet! Graphics sponge off the RAM but not a major deal in my case due to the fact I don't do much gaming. Nevertheless supplies ATA help - space that could be used for a thing else. I bought this mainly mainly because I want to see how effectively the solid-state capacitors hold up. As a Pc tech, I see many mobos come in with blown/leaking caps resulting in dead boards. This is the very first mobo I've noticed (let alone used) that has these. The box says ten years of life below complete load, 40 years in an workplace environment. I doubt I'll use it for 10 years, but it's a good thought I probably won't have to worry about this issue.

Inexpensive and in fact didn't come DOA like most MSI merchandise !!! I know... shockingPerforms great out the door and has a rebate! We will see how that pans out even though. Everything operates except the sound. UBUNTU or Linux in common has junk drivers for ATI chipsets. So lesson 1, if your going to use this with Linux, obtain a sound card. Presently operating on a driver for it but we will see how effectively this performs out. Gave it a four out of 5 due to ATI chipset....

Simple OC, very good chip set. This MB has worked fantastic so far, even tho I have had it just more than a month. Effortless set up and comes with great software program. May be a fault on my finish, but I have a 6G/s, 64mb cache WD Caviar Black 640GB HD, but it nevertheless scores at a five.9. This MB claims it has 6G/s SATA, but i feel its running 3G/s. I have my RAM (OC'd) to 1600 and my CPU is an AMD Phenom II 965 BE over clocked to three.6GHz and it handles it with no issue. I used the BIOS to set all this up even tho it has the OC switch on the MB that tends to make it fairly hassle-free.

Once again, MSI hasn't let me down. A excellent board that exudes high quality. As future proof as present motherboards can be, with SATA 6Gb/s and USB three. Very tweak-in a position after you get utilised to the bios. Wants assistance screws for the back of the board. When you set up the board in your case, you have to assistance the back if you then set up memory due to the fact it will flex also significantly. No eSATA on the rear panel or digital audio out. Quite well made board with strong features and a excellent price tag.

I'd purchase this board once more - in fact, I plan to if there's yet another very good 'Shell Shocker" with this PCB as a component. Fantastic board for the price tag. Supports all the newest processors and so on and so on. Uses strong caps which is unquestionably good. Capable of unlocking CPU cores...good over clocker and has sata III and usb three.. Looks like it would be a very good board however I guess I observed a serious flaw that would only matter to some. Ok right here is the complete reason I decided to write a critique. Im a system builder and have built numerous systems employing Raid , 1, and 5. Most of my clients still choose windows xp so that suggests I have to slipstream drivers or dig out the old trust floppy disks to make the raid drivers perform with XP. Ive accomplished this numerous instances. Nonetheless when attempting to do this with the MSI board the drivers do not perform correctly with windows xp. Even although the drivers are produced for windows XP. Each and every attainable resolution I can try just flat out doesn't work. So it looks like the drivers for the raid controllers might be seriously flawed. This is the 1st MSI board ive attempted to install XP with Raid on and im seriously wishing I stuck to my gigabyte/asus boards as I don't have this difficulty. Began attempting to figure this challenge out about 4 hours ago. So if your purchasing this board with the intentions of making use of RAID and XP please steer away from this. As you are most likely to commit hours upon hours figuring it out. Also good luck with tech support. Submitting a ticket...im sorry but the globe that we all live in doesn't survive on submitting a ticket and waiting two days for you to respond. This piece is brand new and is supposed to be delivered tommorow. Some severe buyer remorse ideal now.

Fantastic board! I've been a ASUS Fan for the longest time, and this is my initially MSI Mother board. Bios updates, driver updates were effortless to find on the MSI site. Couple of issues to that i figured out see "other notes". none so far. four items you need to know. 1) I had DDR3 memory but it was rated 1.7 volts... this MB requires DDR3 1.5 volts (I thought i had a DOA MB at initial). 2) The bios will not post will with certain TVs when connected through the HDMI port. It has to do with the HDMI handshake involving the Television and Computer. I had to maintain the 52" Philips Tv off until i heard the BIOS Post beep.three)When putting in the sound card drivers, DO NOT allow windows xp to install any audio drivers (press "cancel" on the windows hardware wizard and run the reltek installer oneself).4)If your ATI HDMI sound drivers fails to install, its an simple repair. Goto Device manger>System devices. Disable "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio" . Subsequent "uninstall" the "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio". Lastly goto "Action">"Scan for hardware adjustments" and allow the drivers to install appropriately. This was primarily two hours of web searches to figure this out. :)

Functions fine, has settings to hold the stock fan on the 1055t down to bearable levels. The onboard ethernet died mysteriously about 60 days in. This wouldn't be so poor, except for the truth that the graphics card (gtx460) just about absolutely blocks the open pci slot. Feasible just a fluke, but of program it's been over 30 days, so my choices are to get a new motherboard or settle with a usb wifi dongle. Also Got this with the G Skill 4GB RAM combo deal Newegg was operating. RAM was accepted and runs seamlessly with the motherboard. Core unlocker in the BIOS worked good for my Phenom II x2. HDMI operates wonderful for HTPC None yet No challenges with either Win 7 or Ubuntu OS. I bought this for a price range HTPC/server make. I couldn't pass up the shellshocker Newegg had with this motherboard so was willing to take the danger. Hopefully I don't finish up regretting it. What's not to like. Military elements, tiny footprint, assist with more than-clocking, superb worth. Supports the hexa-core processors with the shipped bios. Setting up the RAID was a bit iffy. The manual showed a BIOS setting of "SATA" for the RAID setting but the actual BIOS didn't supply that setting. Employed "RAID" setting rather. (Yup. I had to set RAID to "RAID". The MSI site leaves a LOT to be desired. The OC Genie setting working like a charm. Humming away beautifully with an overclocked 1055T processor.

I'm not a hardcore gamer so crossfire genuinely isn't necessary. Bought mine open box and haven't looked back. It's provided me tons of space to expand my pc since I initially built it.
