Cons: -- The keys and body are crazy fingerprint magnets. It's hard to avoid leaving smudges of finger oils and almost impossible to remove them. -- No way to permanently change backlight settings. There is a key to set the backlight to off/half/full brightness, but the setting resets to auto after the keyboard is turned off/on, OR after 30 minutes of idle. This means that for every day use, the backlight will probably be used regularly, resulting in a shorter battery life. The documentation says the battery should last ~10 days with backlight or up to a year (!) without backlight. -- Price is a bit steep.
Pros: -- Build quality feels really great. The smooth brushed aluminum body looks and feels pleasant. The touchpad feels so silky. The keys feel solid, flat, and almost metallic. Typing is pretty quiet. -- Layout is standard, and includes Print Screen, PG UP/DN/HOME/END/INS keys, plus convenient volume keys distinctly placed above the trackpad. -- Backlit keys and light sensor for automatically adjusting the lighting level are very convenient for HTPC use. -- Rechargeable battery -- Unifying receiver Comment:
Typing on this keyboard feels quite comfortable and the keys have a satisfying tactile response.The touchpad works well, and two finger scrolling up/down/sideways is responsive. One minor gripe is that due to the acceleration settings, using Ctrl + pinching/unpinching in a browser either doesn't do anything or zooms in/out more than a single increment. Also, they could have made the touchpad longer given the empty space below it, but that would make grabbing the keyboard more difficult without providing unintended input. The main drawback is the steep price. For half the price, the Microsoft All-in-One Wireless keyboard is a great option, with the same functionality minus the backlighting and rechargeable battery. But if price is not an issue, the Logitech K830 is the better keyboard and feels much more premium. |
This is a great keyboard which i am using for my HTPC. I've had this keyboard for a month and had only had to recharge it once (although I am turning off the keyboard when not on use) The Backlight was a huge reason why i bought this keyboard as often times I am watching movies/tv in the dark.I give this keyboard 5 stars at the price i paid (got it on sale)
