Very pretty Does not actually have “Universal Socket Compatibility”, Does not in fact perform with "all AMD socket... 939”It is in fact NOT compatible with the AMD Socket 939 processor in my HP dx5150.This CPU makes use of two spring-loaded screws to attach the heat sink. The ZALMAN heat sink’s kit consists of two variety of clip-on attachments, and no screw mounting compatibility at all.The instruction set is written for a universe devoid of screws. Had to waste a บ tube of Arctic Silver to figure out that it wouldn't mate.Hope this overview spares other folks that annoyance.

Operating extremely properly. Operating 10c+ cooler vs stock AMD hs/fan.Looks cool.AM3 Socket / AMD X4 645 @ ӯ.49GHZ+ / No voltage tinkering however. Installation. Not a four pin fan.Manual is poor & type of insulting Zalman doesn't throw individuals a bone at this point. (Video of installation, competent guidelines and so forth)I went into this doing research with patience and time on my hands. I've not performed an aftermarket HS/Fan set up for a lot of years. It still took me about an hour to get this installed. Following a lot of relatively basic factors holding me back. All of which would've been produced much+ less complicated if i could have discovered an installation video.Youtube is full of worthless unboxing or currently-finished install videos.Criss-Cross threading of AMD clip by means of heat pipes is not at all accurately depicted in diagrams (online & physical manual)For me: It was easier to connect the adjustable clip lever to a hook 1st then push down the non-adjustable one into the 2nd hook. (this is type of opposite of diagram) Cont. I had to eliminate my PSU & video card to make factors less complicated (Mid ATX/Micro board) 龰GM-E41) For me: Adjustable clip lever on best / non-adjustable @ bottom (reverse of diagram) -> 'Vertical install' / adjustable clip lever -> hook 1st - then non-adjustable -> hook 2nd.I could probably re-do this in 15min immediately after getting it down the first time.Make sure to note the difference between the Intel & AMD clip levers.I used Arctic Silver as an alternative of the provided grease. I didn't use the manage box either.

This fan is amazing! Keeps my unlocked AMD Phenom II x2 (unlocked to an x4) running at a cool 39 Celsius on minimum speed and down to 37 if I crank it to make rpm with the speed controller. Is a little loud when you have it at complete speed, and is fairly massive so it is appropriate on top of my ram. good fan, and the blue LEDs perform excellent with my other lights in my case, was pleasantly surprised when I discovered out it had them.

Dropped temps from 45 to 31 degrees Celsius from an Arctic Freezer cooler; I really like the green LED regardless of the truth that it doesn't match my case fans; separate fan controller - want to set it manually or temps go up; installation not at all easy for AMD3 - require a lot of hand strength ; the fan danced all more than the CPU's heat spreader through set up regardless of utilizing Ceramic paste which is like super glue GIGABYTE GA-MA790FXT-UD5P AM3 DDR3 AMD 790FX ATX AMDAMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ955FBGMBOXOCZ Unique Ops 4GB ƒ x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop MemoryAntec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Pc CaseXFX HD-485X-ZDFC Radeon HD 4850 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express two. x16 HDCP Prepared CrossFireX Help Video Card

Appears like a copper, compact and rigid slinky in a circle shape. To the other reviewers: You won't get reduce if you take it a small straightforward. It took me ten minutes max to install and I applied two pieces from the included accessories. It's successful and silent. It's hard to tell the difference between the fan operating at 100% or 50%. It is the largest cpu cooler I've ever noticed. It extends about three inches high from the cpu and "almost" covers the closest ram slots. None This is so far the worst knowledge ever relating to CPU cooler, this is an overpriced unit with intel CPU in thoughts. Was so uncomplicated to put for a 1156 socket(core i7), was so painful to attempt on AM3 socket, got cuts in my fingers, got the thermal paste applied twice and following 3 attempts I gave up. The clip for AM3 CPU's has a non sense style. Acquire it for core i5 or core i7. Going to newegg for RMA. will never ever obtain zalman solutions anymore. This is my second failure with zalman cpu fans in a 2 year period. It's been tough to uncover a excellent replacement for amd stock fan. Will attempt other brands for confident.

Quiet, operates properly at cooling.supports a number of orientations. i'd suggest it to everyone. The whole cause i purchased this cooler was to replace an AM2 retention bracket. In fairness i opened it at the store and saw multiple brackets, but after finding it house i discovered out that they only provide intel brackets. so i had to order the appropriate brackets separately. great item, but if you are finding it for an AM2 retention bracket, make confident to order a bracket also. i gave it four eggs due to the fact all the ads say it supports a number of socket sorts but doesn't say AM2 isn't integrated if you don't have one already

When it came time to migrate it to the newer ssytem I discovered mine did not incorporate the AM2/AM3 Brackets what so ever... Would appreciate a Zalman response or a way to get the missing brackets.

All copper. Cools fantastic. Loud at complete speed. I don't like the manual speed adjuster. Only a 3 pin connection so the fan cannot be controlled by the motherboard if it has a four pin connection on board.I'm gonna change this out for the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus rather.

CPU-Q6600-stock speed 2.4ghz. Before: (dusty stock intel cooler) 41 C at idle. Immediately after installation: 23 C idle. 20 min burn test utilizing prime95 with zalman 9500a led installed: 44 C on highest fan speed***. Lowest fan speed at burnᛖ C. This actually meets what I was hoping for ࿒ C or below) and exceeds expectations at idle-since it's generally operating at room temperature when not performing a lot. Instructions are not also clear. I wrestled with the hsf and the bracket for like half an hour lol. I put the plastic stand on the wrong way. It's a user error but if the guidelines have been clearer/more detailed I might have gotten it the proper way the very first time. The arrow is the spot you need to have to hook the element of the metal bracket that has no attachment to it, and the other end hooks by that attachment. ***-at the identical time I upgraded my case to haf912 which has 2x200mm fans, a 140mm and 120mm-that's some major upgrade to my airflow. The temps would have been slightly greater in my old case which had 4x 80mm fans, nonetheless I think the difference is also huge to ignore: about 20 C off my cpu temps. Thermal paste utilized: arctic silver 5. The fan is quite quiet but on highest speed I hear a slight whir when I stand close to the computer, but I don't feel it will bother most users.

This is an great searching heatsink, it appears so cool inside a case with the lights reflecting off the copper, not to mention that it keeps my AMD Phenom II Quad Core (overclocked to three.9ghz) at a chilly 33° C Nothing So Far and too great to have negatives This is a wonderful acquire, I got it on a super deal and it was worth each penny. If you have a high efficiency CPU and you don't want water cooling, this is the subsequent very best issue.

-Extremely properly constructed-All copper heatsink-Pretty, soft blue LED light -Fans are not sharp enough to cut to the touch, but considering that you have to apply considerable stress to the latch the get it to the MOBO, i nick my self a couple instances-Cost compared to other models( see beneath) I had a Hyper TX I bought on this site for twenty bucks. A buddy offered to get this Zalmaan for me b/c I was building him a new rig. -with the HyperTX and the paste it came with I was at 20-22C idle and 40-42C in Prime95.-with Zalmaan and Arctic Silver it dropped to 18-19C and 38-40C. I havent had considerably time to test, or see if there is a break-in period for the AS paste, but that is disappointing. Or maybe I just require to reseat it.

It is massive but not also big, no noise on silent mode, keeps my temperature beneath 20 at idle, beneath 40 beneath stress. Effortless to comply with guidelines and straightforward installation. I don’t like how the fan cable touches the copper heat sink and/or heat pipes. I assume that if the cable is not resistant enough it could melt by touching the heat pipe. I hope Zalman thought about that. So far no difficulties. It is a incredibly great cooler. I advise this to anybody trying to develop a quiet computer system. If you don’t care about silence then you can get a far better deal from yet another brand that provides same cooling efficiency for less.

Thanks to Zalman, my Core 2 Quad Q6600 is idling about mid 30s (C). At complete load, temps are just beneath 50C, which is still quite cool for this CPU. Whilst installing it onto my CPU, I was reduce numerous occasions by the heatsink. Let my bloody fingers be a lesson to you all; be careful whilst handling this beast. For me, the clips were hard to set up. It was tricky to install them although attempting to center the heatsink and most of the time, they would get out of place as I tried to maneuver them appropriately.. Fortunately, I had the two diverse forms of clips and chose the screw type (seems to be seriously steady).I really wish Zalman updated these babies so that they could have a four pin adapter and allow the motherboard to handle the fan speed. I have this at full speed at all times and it's really loud at max. It is worth the bloody scratches on me hands.Overall, I'm delighted with this heatsink. I'm just waiting on the Arctic Silver 5 burn-in period to see if that will drop my temps even decrease.

Superb fan and heatsink, but a small tricky to set up- and copper fins are Extremely sharp. Keeps my AMD Phenom X2 BE 555 (With all 4 cores unlocked) under 30C. Looks tremendous in a see-by means of case like mine. None This heatsink comes with an optional fan speed controller, which I chose not to install. I simply didn't want the handle unit with a cable running to it on the outdoors of my case. I don't know what the default RPM's are for the fan, but it's performing a terrific job keeping the CPU cool with no adjustments.
