Comment:
Good sound for $49, and they look great too. I got these because I needed something that not only sounded good but also looked good. They deliver good sound, for a pair of USB 2.0 speakers. Keep in mind, these are 2.0 computer speakers, so do not expect home-theater sound quality out of them, but for what they are, they're good. They will not blow your mind, but they make great computer speakers that deliver decent sound without taking a lot of space, and look good on your desk too. I like the omnidirectional sound, you can hear them just as well from any place in the room. Plus, it gives you a more of a 3d sound experience, maybe as a result of reflections from walls and stuff, but anyway it sounds a lot better than regular 2.0 speakers. That probably is not something that everyone would desire, but for me it sounds a lot better this way. These speakers also look great next to my monitor, the design is simple and elegant. If I had one complaint, is that they are a bit large, I would guess that the same sound could be obtained with slightly smaller enclosures. I looks like these speakers are now discontinued by Logitech, and because of that they recently have been in clearance at most retailers that stocked them. This was a great opportunity to get them at 1/2 or less of their original $100 price, and at anything less than $50 they are definitely a good deal.

I have been looking for a set of USB speakers for a while now. The Z-5 from Logitech fit the bill perfectly!Upon arrival there was no damage to the box or it's contents. The only thing that wasn't working was the remote and a new battery fixed that. So a note to all that buy these speakers, if your remote does not work, replace the battery! These speakers are very capable of getting loud. I have not experienced any clipping yet. I do not listen to anything that loud anyway though. They sound so much better than my laptop's built in speakers! They work with both OS X, Windows and Ubuntu. I cannot say enough good stuff about these!

I was looking for a compact speaker that can replace 2.1 one (Logitech S210, I think). This one definitely beats my old 2.1 on high~mid range, but not as strong bass as I hoped, but still good.At highest volume, this USB speaker is much much louder than my 2.1 which is 21W. Definitely recommended.

Cons: Very flimsy remote, short cord connecting the speakers together.

Pros: Excellent sound, omnidirectional, USB interface (no need for a power brick).
Comment:
Picked these up on sale and am very happy with the sound, especially considering they are USB. They "power off" when you mute your system volume. I was disappointed with the remote; it is very flimsy and you have to hit the buttons just right to make them work. Not a huge problem for me, as I use my keyboard's media controls. The lack of a power brick is good, but the wire connecting the left speaker to the right was too short for me. It has a smaller-than-2.5mm connection so I couldn't extend using a standard 2.5mm extension either.Assuming you don't want to place the speakers more than 6 feet apart, and don't need the remote, the sound quality is excellent and the speakers are quite solid. The aux-in works well for iPod, etc.

Cons: -does not have a sub or a volume nob on the speakers

Pros: -light weight-no sub means less clutter of wires and easier to move-has a remote control-very low power, no power plug and only powered by USB alone-great volume levels for only USB power
Comment:
I thought these speakers for sound quality, portability, low power draw and less cable clutter and that is exactly what I got. I tested these speakers while on display at a store and was highly impressed by the output volume and sound quality considering that USB2.0 is only 4 watts. to match the volume you would normally require a 30watt speaker system.May be a little pricey but remember you are paying for quality. Volume can be controlled via the keyboard volume control or by remote or by the volume control within windows.

Cons: no volume knob on the speakers themselves, have to use remote

Pros: Compact speaker system, easy to connect & use, good sound quality.
Comment:
I wanted a compact speaker system (read: no sub-woofer) that maintained a good sound quality. The Z-5 speakers delivered. If you insist on thumping bass, these wont impress you. If you just want to hear good quality sound without cluttering up your desk and surroundings, you'll like them.
