Had these speakers for almost 5 years now and they still sound like new and I usually listen to music at close to max volume. Can't beat these and the price is awesome compared to what i paid for them way back when, over 120 bucks.

Great value. I also have the older ATP3. Recently bought Bose Companion 2 for another computer and took them back. The ATP3s sound much better. So am going to pick up a set of the current style. Haven't had any buzzing and hissing like a few others have talked about.

I am a pretty disappointed after all of the five star reviews I read before purchasing this product. My suggestion is do a google search on other reviews before you purchase these speakers solely based on the reviews here. For the price these speakers are loud and clear with pretty solid base on high audio levels and if you are planning on playing these speakers on a constant high volume then they might be perfect for you. If you are looking for a mid to low volume speaker there definitely has to be a better pair out there in the same price range. If you try to adjust the bass any lower then the half way mark the sound becomes extremely shallow sounding. The worst part about these speakers is the low hum constantly coming from the sub when no audio is playing but the speakers are powered on.Basically it comes down to what type of use you want for your speakers in deciding whether to purchase these speakers or not.

I got the older version of these the Altec ATP3's. I have had them for about 7 years now I got them back in 2001 and they still sound amazing. I have used them for parties and and movies cause they have plunty of power while keeping the sound quality crisp and the sub keeps right up no prob. For being 7 years old I am very satified with these speakers I will be using Altec for years to come. I like to listen to my music loud and I had a Bose 3.1 syetem of a friend of mines for a while and it could not measure up to my ATP3's for sound quality while being cranked up. Save some money go with Altec Lansing you'll love them.

i have had these speakers for a year this month and boy they still sound liek new, although when i turn uo the volume or turn it dow (using the dial on the speaker , not from the pc) it makes a loud fuzzy noise but it tamperes off within a minute, i havent heard of any one else with this problem so i prob just got one made on a friday afternoon, but i have a 5 year warranty from futures so all good. but all in all 100% worth 80 dollors

Ive had these speakers for almost 3 years now. They are probably one of THE BEST purchases I've made. They work just like they came out of the box, never had a problem with them. And the sound is incredible for a 2.1 system. If your looking to buy a nice pair of speakers around $70, look no more...

I purchased this set of speakers from a retail store, several years ago, for a much higher price and they have worked perfectly all this time. They have the best sound and do not take up a lot of space. This set is solidly built. I put my sub-woofer under my wooden desk and I really have to be careful not to have to much bass, as it will disturb my neighors, even to this day. Tiger Direct is selling this set for a 'song'. Altec Lansing is well known in the audio speaker world and is a trusted name. My advice is buy this set and begin to enjoy the sound from your PC, the way it was meant to be.
