I bought this CPU to because my previous MOBO burned out and I needed to replace it but I had to buy a new motherboard which required this CPU. I wanted to try it out anyway and see if there was any difference between dual core and a regular CPU and personally I see a lot of difference. It's much faster than my old CPU and motherboard! The CPU had some bent pins when I received it but they straightened out without a problem and it works fine. I would recommend it for the price.

i recieve this cpu with the pins bent...i dunno how it got bent but it was probably because of the shipping. But simple and time consuming modifications did the trick and CPU works great. ON Window 7 WEI rating its a 6.1. Great CPU would buy again. Though i would just buy the Retail version of the AMD AThlon II 240 since it comes with stock cooler.

This CPU was a AWESOME updgrade from my old pentium 4 build, replaced my old intel motherboard with a lovely Zotac micro ATX board with nvidia 8100 chipset, and added this AMD CPU and boy does it FLY! super snappy responsive on Windows XP and stays cool with my thermaltake system. plan to overclock soon, cant wait! 5 out of 5 stars, great upgrade and doesnt break the bank!

This proc was purchased to replace an old 2400XP unit that had cooked itself. On a K9N6PGM2-V mobo with 2GB RAM. Ran well under XP, but shows an error under a fresh Win7 install (coprocessor driver missing). I don't know if that is a mobo or chip manu problem, but it hasn't affected performance. In fact, system runs better under 7 than XP. Go figure. I haven't checked temps, but I do not oc, so it should be fine. Very happy with it.

Although this is one of the cheapest processors on the market it gets the job done very well. I use this for web browsing, video streaming and this processor does a good job at it.
