Great Processor
Comment:
Made HULU and other online streaming video go from stuttering to smoothe. Combined with Megabyte board and 4 GB of OCZ memory, I got upgraded for under $200 after rebates. I see it is now unavailable. Too bad as this CPU is a bargain. Good job AMD!!

Good performance for the price
Comment:
Great performance for the price. Coupled with cost savings of a AM2 motherboard, is a great way to get low end performance without needing to get a crippled sempron or celeron type of processor.

Low price and its pretty fast, especially for the money you pay. Comes with a small cooler but it does the job. This cpu runs cool and runs all my games; heroes of newerth, left 4 dead 2, modern warfare 2 and battlefield bad company

Very nice budget cpu
Comment:
Fired right up, very fast - very cool. No extra cores to unlock, but I knew that. For a bit over $40 it's a no-brainer. Does run 1066 DDR2 unlike what some folks have mentioned. Fine when paired with Vendetta cooler.

AMD Athlon II X2 240 2.8GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:For the market its in, there is really no weakness

Pros:Budget oriented CPU, price is good
Comment:
Paired this up with a Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H and worked right out of the box with no issues. Great for budget systems as it does have dual cores and a decent speed (2.8Ghz) but would not recommend this for gaming systems as for a little more you can get at least a quad core CPU. Heat does not seem to be an issue so the system noise level is low.

Big improvement
Comment:
Works great with my Gigabyte mobo. AMD is known for performance so how could i go wrong. So choose AMD! So do you think I could make a few extra bucks promoting AMD? I need to add more goodies to my tower.....

SCREAMING little CPU
Comment:
With a GB MA785GM US2H AMD785G Socket AM2plus MB its just screams. Was going to make just a video server out of it, but it's now being slated to becoming the next workstation. The upgrade for the system it was replacing wasnt expected for 6mo, but now have pushed this date to later this month.

Great Processor, Overclockable!!
Comment:
This is the first processor I have used for my first pc i built myself only a month ago. I just cant get the satisfaction out of a prebuilt pc from Dell etc. And let me tell you it is a great CPU. Overclocked to 3.5 stable for the last 3 weeks. Pair it with the ASUS M4N78 PRO, 2gbs of pc6400 ddr2 ram and a gts 250 1gb and you will be running crysis on High settings with great playability. You cant use Very High settings without some serious lag but otherwise it runs great.

Nifty Processor for the price!
Comment:
I am very happy with this processor. A friend has an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 ($187.97 currently) that only averages 20% better on benchmark tests. I have been brand loyal to AMD for several years and remain so.

Awsome value for money
Comment:
This was for my first build and I was price conscious because I did not want to loose too much money if something went wrong. But everything worked fine and I am happy with the performance of this AMD processor. It is fast for my work and runs very quiet and cool.

AMD Athlon II X2 240 2.8GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:-Included heatsink is garbage, but gets the job done

Pros:-Highly overclockable-Low heat output-Fast for a budget processor
Comment:
Used this with a Gigabyte GA-MA785GT-UD3H (DDR3 Version), I've since upgraded to an Athlon II X4 620. Great CPU for budget users and budget gamers, however if you have the 50$ to spare get an X4 620 or 630. Paired with a XFX Radeon HD 4770 it will play Borderlands at 1920x1200 quite well and with most details at High. Highly recommended for a budget gamer.

AMD Athlon II X2 240 2.8GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:Not the same performance as an Intel...

Pros:Fast clock, nice cache size, low power consumption, AM3
Comment:
This is a great budget processor but for higher performance Intel seems the way to go. Next build is Intel.

Great Bargin for Performance
Comment:
This is my 2nd generation of owning a athlon processor. The first lasted for 6 years. This chip is definately improved since my last. The board I purchase with it was a package. Great combo for work and leasure. The box set does come with thermal tape on the heat sink. I purchased some anyway to be certain that if I had to take the chip off for any reason and reapply, I would have some thermal paste. The chip is stable out of the box. When running windows, expect only 2gig of ram to operate. You don't have to over purchase memory. I used 2 gig 800Mghz ram. If you plan on using a windows 64 instead of 32 program then you can use up to 16gigs. I had spoken to builders and was advised to go with intel, but this proves them wrong, stable and cheap. It is fast and reliable. This is what I have come to expect from amd. T hey delivered as promise and were best price. If your not in a rush, free ship.

This is a really good cpu for budget builds! It might have a small cache but its one quick little thing with some DDR2 ram and 8800 GT frommy previous rig. Can't wait to Overclock it and see how far it will go!

AMD Athlon II X2 240 2.8GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:- None

Pros:- Low cost- Low power requirement- Relatively low heat- AMD!
Comment:
I bought this CPU for a low-end and cheap new system built. It's well enough for daily tasks like browsing, emails, facebook etc... watching movies too is no problems as well as light.medium gaming. I paired this CPU with a Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H and G.Skill DDR2 Memory. Works perfectly fine and runs Windows 7 nicely. Highly recommended for budget builds.

A Great CPU, for a non gamer
Comment:
I have never downplayed any AMB CPU, since I have been using them for the last 5-6 years. But after three years hitaus, of not doing upgrades. I am in the process of massive revamp, when I bought this, I thought it will be okay for the MB, but several days after, I check the MB variant uses for other CPUs, and found a much better one (another AMD CPU mind you.). FOr a non-gamer, I will highly recommend for the dual-core usage. (Going Quad myself). What the changeover, if you asked? The L3 cache pipe. It was a bit too small for my needs. But go AMD!!!

Great dual core processor at a budget price!
Comment:
I got lucky enough to pick up one of these while they were still 40 dollars...I think I should have ordered two. I was in the mindset of building a super budget rig and when I saw this CPU I had to buy it. It took a bit longer than expected to get here but for the 40 dollars I couldn't complain. I haven't overclocked it but it seems to run pretty cool with the stock heatsink and fan. Let's not leave out the fact that this AM3 can work in an AM2 motherboard so many of you looking to upgrade might not need another one. So far no problems. My last two CPUs of this brand name have withstood the test of time a 1300 and 3000 and I expect this one to do the same. System: 2.8Ghz X2, 512MB graphics, 2Gb DDR2, 500Gb HDD.
