AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ Eight-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:None found

Pros:Nice fast chipRuns cooler than old, slower CPU
Comment:
Bought this to replace my old Phenom X6 1055t 6 core chip that came with the Mobo I bought last year. It's about 1/3 faster at 4GHz compared to 2.8GHz on the old girl. What I found surprising is that, even though it's running a higher clock speed it's actually running about 5C cooler (on average, no OC) than the old chip. It doesn't get much better than that!

Pros:FAST !!!!! POWERFUL !!!!

I'm in LOVE!!! these might not be as fast as intel but what do i care. The power of this beast vs price is incredible! I'd rather have a kick ass processor, with more power than i need, and some money left over for the games i'm want to play. Intel might be faster but you DEFINITELY pay for it!!!

Pros:awesome, best AMD CPU that can be purchased right now. 8 cores, 4.2 GHZ
Comment:
replacing a hex-core Thuban 1090T 3.3GHZ, that had been overclocked to 3.9GHZ. Not overclocking this new CPU, and I see a very big improvement. Would purchase again if I need one.

AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ Eight-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:will get hot without adequate cooling

Pros:great speeds, easy to overclock, good perfomance to price ratio
Comment:
this chip is easy to overclock. can easily get to 4.5Ghz without adjusting voltages or anything. once you start adding more voltage to the chip you can easily get to 5ghz, the only thing that needs to be watched are the temperatures of the chip, so if you have a decent cooling solution, overclocking is a breeze. it also helps if you have a good motherboard is very clean vrm solution, and cooling for that vrm solution.

Being old and cheap (with myself), I was going to build a system with a Sabertooth and 32 gigs of Crucial Ballistix using an older processor to see if stuff worked. Fortunately I came to my senses and added this to my order.Things went very well with no need for me to be available.Hi Jim,I have made the requested changes, charged your credit card, and sent the updated invoice by email. If there is anything else I can assist with, please let me know.Gosh that was great!Just for disclosure, I've run Linux on AMD for the last nine years, but I got 5 Intel machines for grand-kids - core two to i7.This Sabertooth/32gigs/8350 machine is just cruising. Right now it's running Linux Mint 13 but it can run any Linux.First step is overnight mem-test then heavy duty processor testing.

AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ Eight-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:Power-hungry

Pros:Performance, OCing, great at stock
Comment:
For the price, it's hard to go wrong with this little FX chip. Paired with an Asus CHV Formula-Z and a custom loop, this chip is fast! Using an H80i, I was able to get 4,8Ghz and the custom loop can max it near 5,2Ghz (~1,55V). That being said I run it 4,8Ghz (1,476V) for a 24/7 OC.If you're less "extreme" in your build, just know that this is a quality chip that can get easily 4,4-4,6Ghz on air; just don't use the stock fan!Coming from a Phenom II X6 1090T u 4,2Ghz, I can assure you it was a step up in every scenario (gaming, video editing, photoshop, etc.)

I have this on an Asus Crosshair V Formula, huge improvement over my old Phenom II X4 965. If you are looking for a gaming machine this is worth looking at. It is very close to the performance of Intel i5 3570K but at a lower price point.

AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ Eight-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:Fan and heatsink are nothing special

Pros:Runs great, was a substantial upgrade from my athlon II 245 cpu
Comment:
I really like the performance from this thing, can overclock quite easily, does anything I throw at it.However, the fan is VERY loud, and somehow still very inadequate at cooling the processor. It gets quite hot quite fast without overclocking at all, but this is largely a problem with my current case fans. Im doing a huge upgrade in the next couple of days to water cooling and new case fans, plus a new side case fan where there currently isnt one.I should note that the heatsink did not quite fit my motherboard, the arms were slightly too short to attatch to my motherboard brackets easily. So what I had to do was loosen the motherboard brackets a little bit so now the brackets are held onto my motherboard with the tips of the screws. Seems stable but is not optimal at all, quite disappointing but is most likely a problem with my motherboard brackets being too short themselves. Motherboard is MSI 970A-G46.so overall a great product, fan is loud, but due to my own systems problems and lack of synergy with motherboard brackets this should work better with other peoples systems. For these reasons I give a 3 out of 5. Really loud fan and heatsink should fit onto my mobo better.

Cons:- Weak Single Threaded performance- High power consumption

Pros:- Great for Multi-threaded applications- Very Low Price (got it for $179)- Competitive performance with products in its price range
Comment:
I'm satisfied with my purchase of this processor. I use it in a bitcoin mining rig. The CPU itself is busy hashing away for litecoins using XOP optimizations for a decent performance boost. This machine also doubles as a LAN gaming rig with two Radeon HD 7870s in Crossfire. In the games I tend to play over at LANs this processor does the job (BF3, Star Craft, DOTA, LoL etc).

AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ Eight-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:Does not compete with Intel's Ivy Bridge. Excessive heat amounts, performance per watt is nowhere near the older Sandybridge and the newer 22nm ivybridge

Pros:Cheap excellent multi threaded performance. 16MB insane total L2/L3 cache drop  in compatibility with older AM3+ motherboards, no new socket is requiredCool packaging?
Comment:
This processor is near performance to the first gen i7 920, delivers 8 cores (actually 4 modules with SMT, sharing same resources)and comes to market at quite an attractive price point. It does however not compete with Intel's solutions, what AMD has done is tweaked their older Bulldozer FX8150 for lower power consumption allowing them to increase frequency. Even though performance per watt is not very good compared to their competitor's offerings, it is still a quite decent performer, you can see good performance with this processor, but you can see even better performance on Intel's i5 platform coming in near the same price point.
