ASRock Q1900-ITX Mini-ITX 2XDDR3 1XPCIE2.0XZ1 1MINI-PCIE Motherboard
Cons:J1900 is slow compares to i7. :-)

Pros:Fanless,Low power, supports up to 16GB memory(DDR3/DDR3L),
Comment:
I built with 4GB DDR3(KTL-TP1066/4G) first then upgrade to 16GB DDR3L(2 * KVR16LS11/8), 240GB SSD+ 2TB HD, all in APEX Mi-008. So far, no issue found related to Q1900-ITX. I used this for hosting VMs, it did it's job very well. Highly recommend.

ASRock Q1900-ITX Mini-ITX 2XDDR3 1XPCIE2.0XZ1 1MINI-PCIE Motherboard
Cons:No internal USB type A connectorOnly 4 Sata ports

Pros:PriceFanless, silent quad coreLow powerMini-ITX2x SO-DIMM supports 16GB memory in totalPCIe and mini-PCIe for expansionsBuilt-in Intel graphicsUSB 3 portsHDMI output
Comment:
I used this for a Storage Space NAS running Windows Server 2012 R2 and Plex Media Server. The quad core is fast for a 10W TDP. Even without fans the CPU temps is always less than 50C. Everything has been running stable for 7 months. I used the PCIe x1 and the mini-PCIe to add 4 more sata ports since the 4 included wasn't enough for my NAS. Transfer speeds maxes out the 1Gbps connection. For $80, I think this is great value for building a DIY NAS.
