Cons:sometimes sound through hdmi wont work until a restart

Pros:awesome htpc setup paired along with the $150 phenom 9500 & 4gb ram combo!
Comment:
great board with probably everything you need for a htpc setup. It plays 1080p smoothly =] I would imagine it would be an awesome gaming pc as well with hdmi and a pci-e slot for a video card

ASUS M3A78-EM Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:None

Pros:Very OverclockableVery Fast Onboard GPUCrossfire X
Comment:
This is a great board. I purchased this board for a friend after his Gigabyte AM2 board died immediately, and he's extremely happy with it. He wanted an affordable rig that could play some games on low settings, so he bought a HD3450. Much to our surprise the HD3450 and the onboard HD3200 are crossfire compatible even in XP, and it actually improved the gaming performance considerably! Great board, highly recommended!

ASUS M3A78-EM Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:lack of PS2 connections (if thats important to you), could be cheaper,

Pros:supports all the newest CPU's, HDMI output, onboard gfx supports 1080p with ease, esata, 1394
Comment:
Great board for an HTPC. igp can support 1080p playback with no problem. havn't tried undervolting/underclocking cpu yet (for noise/power consumption/heat sake) but i'm sure it will have the option. If not, no biggie, just make sure your cpu is a low power version.

ASUS M3A78-EM Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:Board seems kind of Flimsy/thin for my liking, be sure ya use every stand-off you can.

Pros:Tons of display options, Supports latest AMD CPU'S. Express gate is kind of cool. board shipped with rev 1204 of the bios. so supported my Phenom II 920 no flash of bios required
Comment:
Has every kind of display output you can imagine, including Display port. Has E-sata, Firewire, and quite a few USB ports. The Box says it can support the 140w Phenom though not sure I would risk it. It does handle the latest AM2/AM2+ and with latest Bios flash AM3 cpus so your good for a few years socket wise. Onboard graphics are great for general use, and would excell at HTPC use. Though if you want to game get a proper Graphics card. Though older games I am sure would be fine using the onboard.

ASUS M3A78-EM Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:CD

Pros:Cheap, decent onboard video and sound/HDMI
Comment:
This board was easy to install, everything seems to be working fine. The only thing I didn't like was the Norton internet security (only a trial version) was on the same CD as the Motherboard drivers and utilities.

ASUS M3A78-EM Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:If you own a KVM that requires PS2 ports your SOL. There is only 1. You'll need a PS2 to usb adapter. The Raid setup could be more user friendly as I found it confusing at times.

Pros:Large passive heatsinks. Makes it quiet. Supports AM2/AM2+ CPU's. Cheap price.2 fan headers (one for the front fan and one for the back fan, that's all most people need). Well thought out instruction manual. The BIOS is also well thought out and has all the features any beginner/slightly experienced overclocker needs. High quality solid capacitors.
Comment:
Good Motherboard. Comes with a large selestion of connections on the back: HDMI, DVI, VGA, ESATA, Firewire, etc. After setting up a Raid 0, I found that partioning the harddrives pre-windows is not an option using Partion Magic Pro 8.05. I kept getting a bad MBR error 110. After much testing I found that using the above program in Windows was a much better solution.

ASUS M3A78-EM Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:PriceOverclocking limited in BIOS

Pros:WarrantyHigh wattage AMD cpu supportBuild qualityGood connectors (especially display)
Comment:
A great motherboard overall that is backed by Asus's warranty and supports the higher wattage AMD cpu. Build quality is excellent for a board in this class and the color scheme is well matched. There are many connectors and display itself has options for VGA, DVI and HDMI! Sound comes in both analogue and digital via optical or coax. However, the 780G chipset should be cheaper and note that overclocking is limited partly due to the options in BIOs.I would recommend installing the latest BIOs and drivers online instead of the included CD as they are outdated.

This is great for an HTPC build. It even has Display Port. Only complaint is the Firewire pins are in the center of the board and not on the bottom.

ASUS M3A78-EM Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:Not as cheap as it could be. Limited fan headers, no dual lan, ATI CCC is flaky as usual. Lame install cd

Pros:Warranty, AMD chipset, high wattage cpu support. Good connection options
Comment:
Overall this is a nice board. Excellent selection of connections, good performance from the AMD chipset. 3yr warranty is a bonus though don't count on quality from Asus RMA support anymore (They are not real techs in that dept)The cd is beyond lame trying to force install of bloated nortons etc... and is beyond out of date. Skip such and just download the latest drivers online. And skip the ATI CCC which is flaky as always but is really not needed. DVI out didn't work with one monitor here for some strange reason.. but it does work nicely with others. Also for some ppl's needs the Express gate will be a bonus.

ASUS M3A78-EM Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:Kinks need to be worked out...

Pros:Lots of features! Great design!
Comment:
I bought this motherboard cause of it's strengths. Though once I got it installed and turned it on, both power & cpu fan were locked at 100% making my system sound like a blow dryer... there was no solution from ASUS or NCIX other then to RMA it, which sucks! If the board came to me 100% working I would give it 5 stars forsure.

ASUS M3A78-EM Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:-Size of the board is slightly bigger than my previous mATX board, but it's understandable since it's got pretty much all the flavored I/O ports on the back panel.

Pros:- Onboard HDMI /DVI /D-SUB /Display Port- 1 gb LAN- 780GX chipset (Integrated ATI Radeon™ HD 3200 GPU)
Comment:
Great motherboard for an HTPC machine or browsing computer. I got this motherboard with an AMD 4850e for my HTPC box and it rocks, got DXVA to work with my High Def videos and it's beautiful to see the built-in Integrated ATI Radeon™ HD 3200 GPU do all the work while the CPU stays at 1-5% utilization.

Comment:

Comment:
Purchased to build a htpc, working flawlessly as such. All required features aside from tuner are onboard. Using in an apex dm317, JUST fits. Have not had any issues thus far, would definately use again for another htpc or a system that wouldn't require a standalone video card.
