ASUS PCE-N53 Dual Band Wireless N PCI-E Network Adapter
Cons:Range is terrible, driver support is terrible. Not worth it.

Pros:Nothing, really. I had to give it a three star, because it wasn't ordered on my account.
Comment:
I got a PCE-N53 ages back because I was tired of having a mediocre connection. By 'mediocre' I mean loading images on webpages was impossible.First issue was the lack of Windows 8 drivers. It took me a while to get a driver that worked. Even when I had, this device was unable to connect to the internet. It wasn't even performing as well as my little USB CISCO adapter. Oh, then there was the 8.1 update. This device IS NOT compatible with Windows 8.1, 8.1 won't boot when it's installed. The main issue, is that I can't connect to my network. I have the best drivers installed, and even trying with alternates I had the same issues. It won't connect to the 5GHZ network at all, and claims to be connected to the 2.4GHZ, but shows it as 'limited' and I can't ping the router. I tried antennae extension cables, networking more routers together to get them closer to my PC, and even using a metal bowl as a directional dish (don't judge me!). Now I'm using an old cellphone with USB tethering to connect to the internet, and I am again able to load web pages with images.Worst adapter ever. Seriously considered buying 300FT worth of CAT6 cable.

ASUS PCE-N53 Dual Band Wireless N PCI-E Network Adapter
Cons:4myrebate (the MIR handler) rejected the rebate even though no terms were violated/incomplete

Pros:Great signal quality on the 5GHz band (what I bought it for)No software bugsGreat reliability
Comment:
This is a good card for the $32 price (should be $22, pity 4myrebate denied the rebate because they changed their own terms out on me, mailed them receipt and they said it also required shipping packing list, despite the very visible "receipt, invoice, OR shipping receipt" on the form). However, the card works very well- stays at the promised 300Mbps on the 5GHz band all the time. The connection to my router through 2 walls and 8m is stable and not faulty. There are also no software bugs, and has not stopped working, ever.

ASUS PCE-N53 Dual Band Wireless N PCI-E Network Adapter
Cons:Antenna are slightly larger than expected.

Pros:Inexpensive, great range, good signal quality
Comment:
I purchased this without reading the other reviews, and when I read them while waiting for this card to arrive, I got very worried. Fortunately, this card works great, and I didn't have the problems that others apparently ran into. Not breaking the antenna may have helped. So what can be said that isn't in the pros cons? It's a wireless card, it's cheap, it works, even on the band less traveled on my dual band router. This card is in my HTPC, which I keep in a stereo cabinet, the size of the antenna required me to change the card slot to take advantage of the hole in the back of the cabinet. Not really a concern for the average person buying this card, but it added two minutes to my day.

ASUS PCE-N53 Dual Band Wireless N PCI-E Network Adapter
Cons:All of what you can think

Pros:NoneAt least it's booted up..
Comment:
Ok...I was able to have a connection..so that a start...but who want a link unstable was going to 50 kb/s to 500 kb/s...even if it's was stable at 500 that way not enough. Test speed show 2 mb/s. On my Imac and macbook air and macbook pro(2006) i was getting 26 mb/s.After raging at it..i decide to turn it off and use the on board Wifi of my MOBO P8z77-Pro. AHHHHHHH! Back to my 26 mb/s. Dont buy that...I just dont know how check for my money back...so might keep it for my eternet connection when i move the modem.

ASUS PCE-N53 Dual Band Wireless N PCI-E Network Adapter
Cons:Not the best rangeAntennaes need to be adjusted a lot

Pros:Fast at times
Comment:
Easy install. The speed seems to fluctuate a lot! All the way from 1 Mbps to 144 Mbps. I scraped one of the antennaes against the wall and it came off, so I can't tell if the fluctuation is because of the (maybe) damaged antenna or just the product. Also the range isn't too good, moving my desktop from 20 ft to 15 ft away from my router significantly improved the performance. When the connection is good (most of the time) I get very good download speeds, but nothing compared to directly connected with an ethernet cable. Also I found the software annoying, uninstalled it and using Windows to connect to my wifi normally. All in all, a little bit of a let-down but functional and suits my needs for now. Good for the price.

ASUS PCE-N53 Dual Band Wireless N PCI-E Network Adapter
Cons:Horrible speed, poor range.

Pros:None that I can see.
Comment:
I purchased the PCE-n53 to replace a Cisco/Linksys AE2500 USB adapter. My experience has always been that internal cards provide much better performance and range due to the external antenna and fast PCI (or in this case PCI-E) bus. This is the first card I've seen where it's worse. This card gets a 2mbps connection to my Linksys E2500 router. The USB card it replaced was able to max out the 30mbps internet connection. Doesn't matter whether it's on the 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz band. Performance is atrocious. I put my iPhone 4, (connected to the same wireless network) right behind the Asus card in the computer tower and was able to get 20mbps. Very disappointed, and surprised because Asus stuff is usually top-notch.
