ASUS Radeon HD 7870 1.0GHZ 2GB 4.8GHZ GDDR5 CrossFireX DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E DX 11 Video Card
Cons:mouse pointer corruption issues. A quick search on the web is telling me it's on ongoing issue.

Pros:Amazing price for such product.
Comment:
At this price range, it's very hard to beat (209)the only thing that bother me is my mouse pointer being corrupt.I tried many different driver, can't seem to get rid of it. I will try removing the mouse trailing and see if it's getting rid of it otherwise I'll be stock waiting for AMD to come up with a driver fixing it. I'll be very generous, 4 stars mainly because it was the best deal available at this price range.

ASUS Radeon HD 7870 1.0GHZ 2GB 4.8GHZ GDDR5 CrossFireX DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E DX 11 Video Card
Cons:- When Overclocked, flickering is apparent when changing and playing videos from youtube ... I thought they fixed this from the 5000 series ... very very annoying. Had to flash a mod bios on the 5000 series to avoid this fickering nonsense.- When I returned the 7870 to stock memory, flickering disappears.- I should not have to deal with flickering, and was reall considering nvidia just for this reason alone.- Quick comment for the Asus boys ... trying to remove the 6 pin PCI-e power connector, the heat pipes get in the way ... Please take this into account for the next round.

Pros:- GCN Architecture- 2 GB DDR5- Overclocks well, (got 1200 on core and 5800 on memory)- Color Scheme and aesthetics to match ROG mobos.- Catalyst 12.11 beta 4 drivers really make this card shine. After almost a year, the drivers finally caught up with the card, and if I may use the 7970 for comparison, this card with the 12.11 beta 4 drivers today, perform on par with the 7970 when it was first released in December 2011. That's how good this card is with the new drivers.- GPU Tweak helps overclock the card.- Very quiet and runs cool, even when overclocked.- Performs better than HD 7950 when overclocked.
Comment:
Coming from my trustee HD 5850, clocked to 950/1250, I was expecting a nice upgrade with the 7870; for the price to performance ratio, the 7870 does not disappoint at $209 (Oct 2012).Overall, I would say that the improvements are between 40-50% increase in most games, over the HD 5850; and yes, comparing both when overclocked. In BF3 for example, Ultra settings jumped from 44 fps with the 5850 to 74 fps with the 7870 at 1680x1050. Since I truly play BF3 on medium settings all the time to maintain 120Hz minimum, the 7870 was the right card; it never dips below 120fps at medium settings ... and drops slightly to 110 on High settings, but keeping its average well above 120fps.I've been a ATI fan for years, and I was really debating between the 7950 and going green with the 660Ti. But finally, from left field, I chose the 7870 because it was on sale at $209. I will use this card until the 8870 comes out, hoping that the maturity of the GCN architecture continues to improve. I know there is still more potential in the card because of recent reviews ... let's see if the boys can get their drivers right to take advantage of the true full potential of the 7 series.Other than the flickering (-1 star for that), I'm very happy with the card and it's a nice upgrade from an HD 5850.
