Arctic Cooling MX-3 Thermal Compound Paste NON-ELECTRICAL Conductive 4 Gram
Cons:
none i can think of.normal price is expensive
Pros: i like the packaging. on sale- $8 dollars only Comment:
Had some mx-2 stored for a year and it kind of dried out. So i decided to get this while on sale. It works as expected. No high temperature. Dont know how much better this is compare to the mx-2. Store this in airtight seal container so it wont dry out as easily in the future when you take it out. I have this vacuum sealed in a plastic bag thingy. It should last for many years til its all used up. Would buy again IF on sale. But for the normal price. its expensive. |

Arctic Cooling MX-3 Thermal Compound Paste NON-ELECTRICAL Conductive 4 Gram
Cons:
Price.
Pros: Performance, non-conductive and brand. Comment:
I bought this based on internet reviews on the Arctic Cooling MX-2. I'm using this paste on my Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro that cam pre-applied with MX-2, this beats the MX-2 by 1.5 degrees on average and beats Arctic Silver 5 by 3.5 to 4 degrees on average. Combined with a heatsink lapping kit, I've shaved a total of 5 degrees on my Freezer 64 Pro vs the pre-applied MX-2 and 7 degrees if I were to used my half empty Arctic Silver 5. Arctic Cooling MX-3 Thermal Compound Paste NON-ELECTRICAL Conductive 4 Gram
Cons:None
Pros:drop my cpu temperature at least 10C Comment:
This product is awesome. I didn't use the spread method to spread the compound so I didn't know if that was easy to spread or not. Instead, I used the pea method and it worked fine. Immediate 10C drop compared to the stock thermal compound that came with your stock intel fan. I got this product at price match so 10 bucks for 10C drop in cpu temperature was worth it! |

Arctic Cooling MX-3 Thermal Compound Paste NON-ELECTRICAL Conductive 4 Gram
Cons:SUCKS A$$ TO APPLY!
Pros:uhh perhaps 2C diff from MX-2 Comment:
What can ya say... it's TIM that's a total pain in the butt to apply! I mean a REAL PAIN! I usually use a razor blade to apply a perfect even thing layer of TIM but with this stuff that's impossible as it has to much suspension fluid thus it floats on the processor and slips all over. It's about the worst stuff I've seen to apply in years since that horrible thick cermaic stuff AS made some years ago. MX-2 is dam near the same performance and easier to apply. Actually MX-2 might even perform better because it can actually be applied properly as with the MX-3 you'd be lucky to get an even spread. I should point out it's an AM2+ socket with a Scythe Mini Ninja and the Ninja AM2 clips are horrible to use as well. Arctic Cooling MX-3 Thermal Compound Paste NON-ELECTRICAL Conductive 4 Gram
Cons:None.
Pros:I just received this from NCIX 2 days ago. Dropped my idle temp from 40C to 35C. I was using MX-2 before. Comment:
A drop of 5C is worth the extra bucks IMHO. Any solutions to prolong the lifespan of a CPU are definitely worth it. |

Arctic Cooling MX-3 Thermal Compound Paste NON-ELECTRICAL Conductive 4 Gram
Cons:the price is crazy for the low improvement
Pros:cool correctly Comment:
This mx-3 paste is the best but the price is so high for the so negligeable improvement against mx-2...I will never buy this product again at more than 10$. |

Arctic Cooling MX-3 Thermal Compound Paste NON-ELECTRICAL Conductive 4 Gram
Cons:Back ordered
Pros:Easy to apply CheapA few degrees better then mx2 Comment:
As an upgraded version of the award-winning ARCTIC MX-2, the performance of the ARCTIC MX-3 outranges other well-known thermal compounds clearly |
I don't know if mine dried up for some reason, but it wasn't the same viscosity described in reviews. It was still very easy to apply though. In terms of performance I don't see a significant difference from other high end thermal compounds, but it's definitely up there. Add ease of application, lack of abrasiveness, lack of electric capacitance and conductivity, and you have an excellent thermal paste, as long as it's not at $15.
