Cons:-Opencase 71c underload at stock setting (vsync off and 100% gpu usage)-fan speed will hit 80% with stock setting and at 80% it sounds annoying.-only dvi-d output, no analog output.
Pros:-Hynix memory-OC core 1035 ; memory 1040 (I stopped at 1040, so don't the limit.)-At the above setting, it's only 4c higher.-Fan noise is very noticable underload, but after adjusting with afterbuner, it's acceptable.-Black plate-the vrm temp always below the gup temp Comment:
This is a good card, I brought it for $500. The only draw back is the heat. I believe for all these R9 290s, you will have to go for a three slots card in order to keep them cool and quiet. Seems this card can cool the vrm well. I dont need to monitor the vrm temp since its alwasys below gup temp.There's nothing wrong with this card, in fact it does well in vrm temp, hynix memory, oc like it should. However, R9 290 runs hot. 71c opencase with v-sync off and 100% usage. The temp would be worst if i close the case. the Royalking cooler is just able to handle the heat. I am giving a 4star coz i am not blaming club3d for the heat, Its just our choice of either save $50 to $100 or buy a better 3-slot cooler...or water cooling. i got this card to replace a 7970 i was using in one of my rigs and it preforms as good as it looks stays nice and couldn't ask for a better card at the price i got it for.. love the R9 290 series cards
