Cons:Did not work in a 2009 / 17" MacBook Pro Unibody .. I had to swap the 8GB that was in another machine for this kit (as it did work in a 2010 13.3" macbook pro ..) It did work 100% ok in a different machine and I had the equipment on hand so im not upset! :)

I purchased 2 sets of these 2x4GB (8GB total) RAM however, BOTH caused my MacBook Pro's to beep continually on startup - after Googling this symptom, it seems that the RAM is bad. Seeing that these are 2 brand new sets of RAM this is a big warning sign of poor quality. I have both a 13" 2009 MacBook Pro and a 15" 2008 MacBook Pro and tested on each with the same results. The sets did not work on either, both causing the beeps on startup. Very disappointed and now I'm stuck with the restocking fee. Be warned before purchasing this! |

I installed the RAM on a 2010 15" Macbook Pro w/ i7 2.66 processor. It didn't work on the first try but when removed and re-installed it worked like a charm. After Effects CS6 works much better now. |

Bought as an upgrade for a 2009 MacBookPro, the RAM was very easy to install, though the screws on the MBP are erring to the tiny side.One thing: the RAM in the pack I received was held rather tightly and I needed a reasonable amount of force and gentle prying to get it out. Those in a rush may find they bend the RAM - just something to watch out for.I am now running OSX Lion with 8GB and it seems to be doing much better. Very happy. |
