This functions exactly as described. It is a uncomplicated device (a WIRE), so it is a little challenging to mess up.This functions wonderful with video cards that push S-Video out by way of the unused pins on the VGA connector. Apparently this attracts stupid persons that don't recognize how the cable functions. Your video card need to assistance S-Video out through VGA - MOST DO NOT. You want to have a certain card that can output the S-Video/Composite signal variety more than VGA. Some Matrox cards do this. NVidia and ATI cards won't. Your laptop won't, etc.The cable works fine, it is your card that isn't delivering the signal required. I purchased some of these cables off an auction internet site ahead of I found out I could get them here.Let me repeat what I stated above: Most video cards do NOT provide the functionality to use this cable. If your video card says it supports "TV Out", it most likely is NOT talking about "S-Video over VGA", as most cards do NOT work that way. You make yourself appear dumb when you don't fully grasp how your pc functions and then rate the item 1Ǜ for not operating the way you expect.

it's affordable it doesn't perform new-eggs return policy is so bad i just threw the product away instead of deal with the customer service......but i nonetheless purchase from new-egg because they are SO substantially cheaper than something else. i bought this to be in a position to watch films (on by pc) on my televisionthe laptop or computer knew a thing was plugged in but would never ever connect to the tv

looked like it was going to allow my tv, vcr or other component to accept the secondary display signal from my laptop/desktop. It did not! Newegg would not ship to my PO Box. It took hassling them and borrowing a pals address to aquire.

None This product does not work at all -I attempted many display settings had a chopped up glimpse of laptop or computer screen at finest then absolutely nothing. No Pc specifications listed in the item detail to make this item usable on the New Egg website.

no doesn't function at all. The seller says the laptop must has Television out function. I spent time to check my laptop function ahead of I bought it. It has Tv out function. But the cable nonetheless doesn't function. Anyway, don't buy it. It's non refundable.

This cable will work for the people today who has a graphics card that supports Tv out function through the VGA. If you can't read the specs and make confident that your graphics card supports it, oh noes... "Please, check your PC & Video Card manual or manufacturer to make positive that your VGA card has Tv-Out function capability via the VGA connector to ensure this cable will work for you!"For those who say it doesn't work, READ THE SPECS Initially.

not certain other than getting inexpensive and shipping was quickly too what they didn't tell u is that if u don't have a video card that can do it, to buy a PC TO Tv conversion box. it calls for a particular conversion chip to do vga to av or rca rather. i can see it working if u have the proper video card. but if it is a typical video card..... go for a converter box..... in the meantime, i hope there are no concerns returning the cable.....

Good idea. This cable does what is says. The S-video and RCA outputs are FEMALE ENDS!!!! Make confident you have either an S-Video cable or a double sided male RCA cable otherwise there is no way to use this. I didn't notice until I received the part and it was a waste of time for my application. I feel they could have just made points easy by each generating this cable longer and employed male ends that plug directly into the appliance your employing.

It is an adapter to allow a desktop to connect to a television :) Many people today are giving this a 1-egg rating simply because it is incompatible with their system and they are not aware. Bought it thinking it may well function considering that my Nvidia card supported Television-out, but it does not support Tv out through the VGA port, so the adapter did not function. Oh properly... only a couple of dollars.

The shipping was on time. IT DOESN'T Function! All i get is lines coming by means of the t.v. with the s-video or RCA! my video card is a lot more than compatible also. it's a nVIDIA GeFORCE* 9650M GT 1 GB

Good quality construction. high quality connectors. None for the item itself. Had a excessive lack of info from HP as to the Television out ability on the VGA port. Appears that it doesn't support it (G61 laptop with HD4200 IPU). Wont take eggs away for a challenge that had nothing to do with the product. Arrived rapidly. Works with a desktop with HD3450 AGP. Puts out a good quality signal with no interference.

none so far If you're looking to drive an old Television from your new MacBook (which has only a mini display port) this won't function. I don't know if it's the MacBook, the Apple VGA adapter, or this adapter, but all I get is snow. An extra concern is that the screw-pins on this adapter don't connect at all with the female threads on the Apple MiniDisplay-VGA adapter. Moot point actually, but another example of bad engineering on a person's component. Apple? Cables Unlimited? Each? Who knows...

It only cost me three dollars. Ummmmm. Final time I checked S-Video/RCA OUT meant it was the male end of the chord, however it has the female ends of those chords, creating it an "IN" chord. There fore I can not plug it into my Tv or anything else. From the back of the package: "USE CABLES UNLIMITED Television-OUT/S-VIDEO ADAPTER TO CONNECT YOUR Computer TO A Television OR PROJECTOR." You cant do that with the female ended chords. How several folks are gonna want to have video going INTO their laptop or computer from an outside source?

This product did not work with 4 different computers and 12 different tvs. Tweaked and reconfigured computer systems, and picture quality is like a 2 year old's art. Save your time and your money.
