Creative 70SB088600007 Sound Card

Pros:Great sound, Front I/O Panel makes quick volume or headphone use easier, high powered headphone output great too
Comment:
Had it for a while, love it easy set up and it just works in my X58 system, awesome sound quality and can do up to a 7.1 system however I'm only using it on a 2.1 ProMedia setup.

Creative 70SB088600007 Sound Card
Cons: -Absolutely HORRIBLE website.-Outdated drivers

Pros: -HUGE improvement over onboard audio-Front panel is very useful when you can't access volume controls from in-game.
Comment:
If it wasn't for the failure of a website creative boasts this would have probably gotten a solid 5 from me, but the fact that I couldn't download the drivers because of site error messages I'm giving it a 4. It is one awesome sound card and I absolutely LOVE it. All in all, Great soundcard, horrible support.

Cons: Difficulty getting 5.1 to work with digital input.

Pros: Sounds great. Positional audio rocks. Makes my speakers sound expensive! Lots of EQ options.
Comment:
Get what you pay for in the sound card world. Audio is clear. Lots of options to fiddle with. most of all positional audio is bang on teamed with the right set of speakers this cards a really winner. "Helps me pawn newbz hardcore" YO.

Creative 70SB088600007 Sound Card
Cons: None

Pros: This Card Has Muscles & Pull
Comment:
I Was using my SupremeFX X-Fi Audio Card that came with my Rampage Extreme. Creative then told me that i had too many activations for this card. So I went on a search for a top notch card. I came across this, and bought it ASAP. Pretty pricey, but so worth the bucks... This card Rocks (more than) Roll does. Ive been missing out on every piece of sound that can possibly be heard in a game, not to mention my MP3's.... I have mad respect for this card. When you plug in your headphones into the Front Panel, the sound is just like when you're hearing it through speakers.... I recommend this card for any Computer Enthusiast or Computer Gamer.....

Great Sound Card
Comment:
Just install and use this creative sound card (April 20 2010). I always used sound cards from Creative for my built, and so far this one is amazing. The clarity, the surrounding effects, the noise suppression are the best I ever heard from a sound card. Just listening to a symphony you will feel every notes and every instruments, of course you do need a good speakers system. AMAZING SOUND CARD.

As usual, Creative brand overcomes all.
Comment:
When it comes to graphics, I onlyh get BFG. When it comes to sound, Creative is the only way to go if you want high quality sound whether you are a music freak or a gamer. This card is no different. There is a reason that Creative is the industry standard. Great sound, high quality, and a lot of features. The drive bays is a great feature as it offers quick access to inputs as well as headphone and mic jacks to hook up a headset.

Awesome Sound!!
Comment:
Creative does it again. I bought this for my new rig. Very easy install, about 10 min. I have windows 7 64 bit and it works fine with it. I like this card cause, you can record what plays over Pandora or any other source on to your hardrive and then put them on your MP3 player for free. I have an old Dell that I put an Audgity ZS in, so I new this would be an awesome card, Creative rules! My new rig is an Asus P6T deluxe X58, with an Intel Quad core i7, and 6 gigs of ram. This site is great they had this to me in like a day and a half.

What a Product!
Comment:
I bought this card close to a year ago now. I got it for I a build I'm planning. I finally got tired of looking at it and reading all the reviews saying how great it is. Install was simple and only took about 10 minutes. I waited a day or 2 to download the new drivers and updates from Creative. I'm not a gamer nor am I an audiophile but I have listened to some fantastic systems over the years. First impression: I'm hearing notes and instruments in songs that I've been listening to since the 60's!! This card makes my Logitech X-540 speakers sound like a thousand dollars set! Movies, Music and Games rise to previously unknown level. I haven't really listened to much music in the last few years. That's changing now with this card. Even though I waited until it was on sale, It would be worth another 50 bucks easy! I don't know the words to properly describe just what this thing can and will do so I'm not even going to try. Just get this card!

Great Sound Card: Easy Install
Comment:
Total time to install on a Windows 7-64 System was less than 30 mins. Media bay is great, love the fact that you can detach part to make it fit 3.5in slot. I dont need full size headphone jacks. PCI Express came in handy because my SLI covers my PCI Slot Sounds great, there is a difference compared to my onboard mobo sound. Please note: My best suggestion is to download the latest drivers before you install, including the front panel patch. I do not suggest using the CD for drivers becuase there is always a ton of bloatware you dont need unless you are a sound pro. When you install drivers, Its up to you to have it auto update, again I suggest against this because it will try to install software that will not work with Win 7-64bit. Overall Great Soundcard

Comment:
After reading many reviews of other products, it became apparent that I had a tough choice when deciding which sound card to put into my new build. The right choice for mewas this feature laiden card set. full of stuff for me to play with.I wanted to stream audio to my flat screan, play music threw my pc and home theater, play live music (I play guitar and sing)and like to record & edit my recordings. My grand kids like to play games and I have lots of old records ,cassettes, and movies I want to convert. Right out of the box this divice gives me all the options I was looking for. I was worried that I might be compromizeing quality for all the extra gadgets, but the sound is simply amazing. It will take some time to get totaly familiar with all included software and features and I'll probly add some new soft ware to compliment this card . There may be a better card out there with all it's features & functionsbut I couldn't find one at compairable price.I wasn't surprised buy bad MS update  and eventualy got to Creative sight and found compatible one. No Other problems to speak of . I'm happy with product and would buy again. This review was modfied by poster @ 02-10-10 12:39 PM

Pros:Wonderful Sound, great product, excellent design.

I installed this sound card last year, and I love it, some may say that the onboard 7.1 integrated sound on motherboards today is enouph, but this things amazing as far as I'm concerned. Soundblaster has allways been king, and they still are in my books.

better sound over motherboard. Nice features and easy to work with software. Front panel is easier. Really clear audio out of digital. Analog 7.1 out is nice too, but beware of the wire clutter. I recommend 4 mini headphone jack to rca's. You'll get less interference if you using 7.1 to a receiver. Great item, but do your homework if you dont like wires

Great card...not so great front panel
Comment:
Wonderful improvement in sound from my on-board audio. Music is crisp, clear, and the bass tones are deep and vibrant. Surround works amazingly, and delivers great quality with my blu-ray drive. My only grievance is the included front panel does not seem to function at all... I'm assuming it was DOA, so I have to contact Creative. Overall, great buy, definitely worth it for the serious audiophile or gamer.

Creative 70SB088600007 Sound Card
Comment:
I bought this card Nov-08. I gave a 4 for the ^price. Works perfectly, in Win-VISTA-64bit SP-1. I bought almost all my computer items from Tiger for my new Machine. Great service and $2.00 shipping a week before Black Friday sales. Tiger even sent me a $50.00 GC, for buying all my parts before Black Friday! I was playing Ghost Recon AWF with friends, and there is alot of debris like pop cans in the game world. We were stacking up to do a raid on the objective, and one of my team mates bumped a pop can with his foot. This made alot of noise as the can rolled around behind me. When the can stopped, I looked to my right rear 45 degree angle, where I thought it stopped according to the sound I heard from it, and that's Exactly where it was! It works just as well in other games that support 3D audio. People think I'm cheating, but I can actually HEAR where they are. My system: Asus P6T Deluxe X58 Mobo, Intel Core i7 920, Corsair XMS3 Tri Channel 12GB, BFG GeForce GTX 280 OC 1gb.
