I have four sticks of this RAM added to the 512mb that came with my late ཁ Power Mac G5 ƒ.0ghz) to bring the total to 4.5gb. No difficulties whatsoever and this machine screams. I get nothing but Essential. See other thoughts for my only other comment...is not a slight at Important whatsoever. I paid more than double the current expense for my last pair but that's just the way it goes with the volatile pricing on memory.

Good brand, wonderful value. Took longer to clear off a workspace and open the case than it did to install the memory. Fired up, ran flawlessly. One of the least expensive, easiest, and most successful upgrades to do. If you can't manage a memory upgrade... PLEASE STEP AWAY FROM THE Personal computer. (You may hurt yourself.) Really should have performed it sooner. New Egg service was A-1 as usual. Nobody does it much better.

I have to say that this is a amazing set of ram that delivered unbelievable speeds from the moment I slid them in. My board even recognized them as 2048 mb of ram which is much far better than my old board could say. I find none....I guess no heat spreader but who genuinely demands one particular of those.

Quickly delivery of item. Utilised the Newegg Memory Configurator which listed variety of memory possibilities based on desktop computer model. Memory received did not fit in laptop or computer - wrong pin count. Did not have this issue with memory in identical order for laptop.

Simple installation and stable operation. None Upgraded my Dell Dimension 8400 to three Gigs with no issues and I was also able to fully disable my paging file. So, rather of increasing the paging file to 1.5x the size of installed RAM (Microsoft recommendation), I was able to save a whopping four.5G of disk space by disabling it totally. Because then, I have tested just about every aspect of operation of my PC (including huge video edits) and it runs perfectly without a pagefile. This modification must only be attempted by users with an advanced understanding of Windows XP and ought to not be attempted on a Vista machine; nonetheless, the bottom line is that it works!

Bought this for a Compaq SR1800NX running WinXP with 512 RAM and an onboard video card. Got an 8500GT (reviewed it too) and stuck in this 2GB. Booted up the PC. Fiddled with video cable as I'd forgotten to disable onboard. Found Windows had booted up and was ready for login at barely 35 seconds from POST. This is a box that booted in 1.5-2 mins just before. MIR annoys me. It's not the ballistix tracer set I purchased earlier (didn't perform in that PC too high clockspeed, already rebated, going to put it elsewhere). No heatspreaders, but it doesn't seem to be affecting it negatively. If heat is a serious concern for you get some heat spreaders. Mmmm, memory.

Essentially it provides your PC a much necessary enhance. Instantly ups your loading time for programs, speeds up games quite a bit. Solid RAM all the way via. You needed to re-activate Windows, for some reason..no worries it took five seconds :) Up to 3gb now, all of it dual channel.

Perfectly compatible with my Dell Dimension 8400. Installed and detected with out a hitch. None so far I employed this to upgrade my machine to four Gb. I'm running Win XP 32-bit OS, and I was hoping for the OS to recognize 3.5 Gb anyhow, but it's only seeing 3.1 Gb. So I wasted dollars on the second stick of memory. It's okay, though. I knew it would see either three.five or three.1, and regrettably I got the lower and of the spectrum. Surely would be nice if MS could give us an uncomplicated upgrade to a 64-bit OS without performing a total rebuild!And, as constantly....NEWEGG ROCKS!! Wonderful service!
