i run several different linux distros for fun, this card allows me to use all the available desktop effects, like the wobbly and the spinning cube that the on board chip couldn't handle. the great price was a great bonus.

Bought this card to upgrade an older computer with only PCI slots. Set BIOS for PCI video source. No output to monitor, computer beeps on startup. Had to remove card to get video back. Returned and waiting for replacement.

It's a pretty good deal. You can't expect to get an amazing card for this price, but you'll get your money's worth. Works flawlessly as a TV-Out on my 10-year old computer running Windows XP Pro.

I bot this card to add a 2nd monitor to my work PC for 2D apps. Once the card was inserted into the PCI slot, I was unable to access BIOS. Even after verifying BIOS Display was set at AUTO, and installing drivers, no display on my monitor. I have wasted tons of time trying to get it to work, and even my IT support guy could not figure it out. Online mfr support is a joke. It looks like I am the second Optiplex 210L user to fall victim to this card. Sending it back.

2 reasons I bought this card: 1.)For a GNU/Debian linux OS to use the tv-out to connect to a TV. Nope! ATI won't release the driver codes for open source software. 2.)For watching video in fullscreen view. Like youtube; AOL music videos. Figure 128mb video card would give good playback performance. At lease that's what the flashplayer websit says. Nope! Runs coppy on AMD1600 1.4Gz w/512mb RAM.

This was the perfect addition to my computer at work to support dual screens. It was cheap, easy to install, and my computer doesn't complain anymore when I open up 300 page PDFs.

If your looking for a card to simply geta high resolutionn then u may want thi one. If your a gamer u most definetly NOT want this card. it can barley play the oldest 3d games (cs-ut) on its own. The positve side is that it is cheap anf u can overclock it it ncely- from 140mhz-256mhz

This card turned out to be what I was looking for. It works fine on my computer... The only small inconvenient is that the driver cd cannot auto run. So I had to go to My Computer and click on setup.exe. No biggie anyway... This is the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5.

I ordered two of these to upgrade two Dell Computers an Optiplex 210L and Optiplex 170L. The card did not allow posting on either machine. As soon as you plugged in the Monitor, using DVI or VGA the monitor went into sleep mode and there was never a display. We then tried one of the cards in a Dell Vostro 200 and it would at least show the Dell Splash Screen and post but it would go no further. It would boot into Safe Mode but we gave up there because we needed it for the other two machines and they wouldn't work at all in them. We are returning these cards to TigerDirect.com.
