This is my first dash cam, so I just choose this one because of the price and the looks. Was a little skeptical because I never heard of DOD before, but I'm not disappointed. The video quality is great. I accidentally dropped the camera about half a meter from the floor of the car while trying to mount it a few times and the camera still works fine, and not shatter to a million pieces like a cheap camera. Good quality dashcam. If there was a carry case that came with it or available separately, this would be perfect. But now I just use a small ziploc bag and carry it like that. If you're looking for a good dashcam, try this one.

I purchased this DOD dashcam and a Kingston SDC10/16GB 16GB microSDHC Class 10 Flash Card for recording all of the trips that I take in my vehicle as a good way to record the trip and any possible accidents.The dashcam unit is loaded with features.The menus are well laid out.The recording quality is much better than I was expecting, easily as good as most small handheld camcorders.I was able to copy the mov files to my computer using a standard mini USB cable.Windows 8 was able to play back the videos in Media Player with no additional codecs required.If you use one of these cameras for recording your driving to capture any possible accidents or mishaps, be sure not to cuss while you are driving, as its internal mic records you quite well. ;)

The DOD LS430W is the first dash-cam I've triedand is quite good. LINUS should do a open box videoabout this dash cam...Easy to use,and lots of features.Day & Night video's are good to excellent.Sound recording is impressive.On max resolution video's are chopped into segments 33.5GBper 30 minute in size and about 4Hrs per 32GB card.SD cards supported are class 10 up to 32GB max and are formatted with fat32.ADATA 64GB SD class10 cards do work and I have tried them,and have recordings over 8hrs on one.MUST USE FORMAT TOOL FROM THEIR SITE !!!"http://www.dod-tech.ca/downloads/tools/FAT32-Formatter.exe"TO GET 64GB SD CARDS TO WORK !!!!Will be using this on fishing trips and holidays,storm chasing ect,ect.Software is OK,but did cause as problem with my computer,hanging,locking up,and a "shick sound" that could be heardwhen clicking on any windows services like openingMY Computer,starting programs, ect,ect.Had to do a restore to fix this problem.For now I am using a third party player"Registrator Viewer""http://www.registratorviewer.com/index_en.html"Work better and works with most other DVR Dash Cams on themarket.Will be getting another one for the rear widow.
