Excellent tool for storage flexibility
Comment:
This product has met my expectations. I bought it to provide me with a means to easily backup the massive amounts of Camera RAW format photos that I take every year. I had used removable drives in the past that needed small enclosures but they were a pain to work with an required a reboot to add and remove. This unit allows you to hot plug drives and still gives better than USB2 speeds. Given the low cost of SATA drives this is a fantastic backup and storage tool!

Works Great!
Comment:
I have been using this for about 2 weeks and its works great! I have it setup with One 3.5 1TB WD HD and it runs most of the time. I have it setup in eSATA mode and have not tried the USB mode. It is not hot-swappable in eSATA mode so i just make sure its powered on before I boot up my PC. Quality seems great so far! Im currently using this drive as a media drive with no problems!

Does What I Need It To
Comment:
Worked like a charm on Windows 7 64-bit. I hooked it up using USB and it appeared as I expected it to. Transfers between the CPU and the drive are a little slow (as expected on USB), but I had no E-SATA to which to hook it up and experiment with, but had I the provided cable would have been too short (hence the 3 on Features - provide a longer cable!). Its great bang for the buck, and it works if you need to do a restore from the drive of old data, or have a place to dump seldom used files.

Slick unit
Comment:
Haven't used it much so far but I like the build quality and the cables seem like quality esata cables. Other cables are pretty good as well. Waiting for my other drives to arrive and then I'll give this beast a workout. Recommend putting this unit in some kind of airflow though. The one drive I used got kinda warm but probably not critical. But you kinda expect something like that to occur on a cradle without a fan and we aren't using this for long spans of time.

Works just fine
Comment:
The only thing I would improve on is the eSATA cables; they are a little too short and stiff. Otherwise it works perfectly. I am running one drive eSATA and the other on USB. Both work well.

Good product but needs better QC
Comment:
This unit works fine, but I've purchased a number of them and had two with power supply problems. The manufacturer just needs to do a little better job of QC.

Cables are Junk
Comment:
I've had this dock for about 6 months, the cables are super stiff and like to come loose.

Good stable product
Comment:
Came up right of the box. I'm using this drive toaster with two 1 TB Seagate drives interfaced to my computer through eSATA cables that were provided with the toaster. I like the power switches for each of the two slots. Fast data transfers, stable, no hassles. Just what I was looking for.

Good, solid product. No problem using it to clone drives. Comes with all required cables, but no software - so dig up your own.

Great Dock!
Comment:
I bought 3 of these (total of 13 T in external storage). The individual power switches are great. I use drive 1 as a boot drive thru the E-Sata port of this machine and the other as storage. I can turh that one on and off when needed. I use the other 2 boxes with USB.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do
Comment:
I bought it to provide backups as we're going from a tower I built myself to a pair of laptops. I didn't want a proprietary external hard drive, because I didn't want my data lost or compromised because of a hardware failure. I was able to plug the SATA C: drive from my old tower into the toaster and started copying files in seconds. The only problem I had was that I had to take ownership of the files on the old hard drive, but that's a Windows issue, and very easy to fix.

Works great with PCMCIA & T42p Thinkpad
Comment:
I used this with the eSata SATA II-150 2Port CardBus I bought at the other web site and my Thinkpad T42p with Windows XP. No problems. I can safely eject the card with the dock and hard drive still connected to it.

DOA
Comment:
Mine was DOA. I was really looking forward to using this device but it arrived at my house dead. TD support talked me into buying a competing product, which has performed as expected.

Outstanding product
Comment:
I recommend buying this product in place of a single HDD, it has so many functions for just a little extra in price. The eSata connection are where its at, way faster than USB. If I had to gripe on anything, it's the big block-like design, kind of resembles a toaster. Just for fun however, I plugged the power cord into the device, held onto one end, slid the HDD across the floor and pressed my foot down on the inline converter, half expecting the top to open in a brilliant flash of light giving me the capability to trap ghosts. Nothing happened of course, but I could have sworn I heard Slimer laughing at me from somewhere. I got your number next time buddy. If this thing can hold up to my idiocy, you should buy it.
SATA Dual Bay Dock

Good solid product overall
Comment:
I was a little puzzled that the two SATA ports and the power plug on the back were installed upside down and the drive eject buttons were reversed. HD1 was HD2 and vice versa. This of course does not affect operation but still odd. What did cause an exchange was discovering the SATA jack for HD1, soldered to the circuit board had bent pins probably from a hasty final test. I needed a dual bay unit with two SATA jacks so as to not be forced to share bandwidth so I did ask for a replacement and not a cancellation.

Perfect solution
Comment:
Hooked this dock up using an esata bracket also puchased from here and I am very happy with the results. This dock works perfectly and was very easy to install. The drives don't fit as tight in the bays as I would like, but other than that no complaints. Would recommend.

Great Performance adn Quality for the $$
Comment:
One of the cheapest dual-bay docks available and works flawlessly. I've had it for a few weeks and have had 5 different drives docked in it for backup, cloning, zeroing, and storage. Hot-swappable is very convenient. Would definitely buy again.

Probably Good but
Comment:
don't really know because one of the LED power indicators did not light up so I didn't use - returned instead. Has slightly more play than the single dock by Thermaltake so may accommodate wider variety of brand SSD 2.5 drives. I would try again -

Works great
Comment:
I've had it for a few days now. Bought it for back up and cloning. Works fast and simple. Can't mix usb and esata but that's understandable. My only complaint is that it could use locking esata cables. Moved 20gb's of data in less than 5 minutes

The Hottest Thing Since Toast!
Comment:
Wow these things are really handy. To make multiple backups to 1.5tb Seagate HHDs or whatever. Hot Swapping these and tranfering data at ESATA speeds sure beats waiting for a USB external! Simply power down the DOCK when backups are completed. Allows all internal bays to be used for secondary storage units! The unit is simple, easy to use plug and play. Ready to go right out of the box. No drivers or software to install! Hassle free. This is a wonderful idea. Just beware of drive heat and it's probably best to leave both bays with a drive in them to prevent dust from entering the connector. I recommend this item!
