Fantom Drives G-Force 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive

I bought this when it was on sale about a month or two ago so I haven't had it that long but I've been pretty happy with it so far. Pros: Plenty of storage space. It's instantly recognized by the OS. Durable metal case and stable snap-on base. Cons: USB 2.0 isn't really very fast, but it never is. It's a real drag when you have files over 4 gigs you want to move. It'll do it, it just takes a while. The metal case is durable but bulky. It's not really very portable.

Pros: On off Button & power light, Fast access USB & eSATA, Very quite. Cons: Compare with others it is big,not a pocket size

Have had for a month now and works just fine. The big blue light will light the whole room though.

after one month, the driver crashed. i am watching among the reviews, that this is a common problem.

this was easy to setup, works great, no problems so far in several months of operation. We use this to backup our server daily.

I've moved all data to this drive from a failed gb fantom drive that failed at months. I hope this lasts longer then the last.

Drive crashed after one month. Company has failed to honor warranty.

Bought it to store daily backups on my Linux server. Very quiet and cool running. Blue led is BRIGHT but I have stored away, out of view. I don't think it's the drive's fault but once in a while my Linux Ubuntu server will loose the USB connection to the drive and will unmount. A reboot will fix it. Haven't found the source of the problem yet. Probably the old computer hardware.

So far no problems. It's quiet and works well on my FTA PVR. Only problem I have is that the blue LED is way too bright.

this is the third one I have bought. Runs quiet and never gets hot. Transfer rate is good and easy install.

HD is working as describe. I was so happy that I ordered the second unit. I bought this product a month ago and it is running fantastically!

I bought this as a means to backup customers data. Asides from the annoying blue light that flickers when data is being written this is a great device. For my personal computer I used the eSata connection and the speed is wonderful. USB is still USB 2.0 nothing we can do about that. It's been carried around all over the place as I've gone from job to job and it's still kicking.

I bought this because I couldn't get the GB that I wanted locally for the price I wanted to pay. I bought this unit and I am totally happy with it and have recommended it to several people. I would buy this again... and again... and again. That would give me 4 TB if I needed it.

I bought it as an extension drive for my cable TV num. HD (Scientific Atlanta 8300 HD) terminal. I needed a eSATA drive and it works just fine. I can now stock many more hours of HD programs.

Had a bit of a trouble setting up the backup - had to take off the separate pictures backup since it was included in my regular set of documents- needed hands on help which the company provided- but not from an 800 free line for contact first contact- After a month now with the proper setting for backups no trouble whatsoever

Bought for art school, works great as a 2 partition drive (one side mac one side pc-fat32) it seems a little loud at times which makes me a little nervous but no problems for the first month and a half.
