Fantom Drives G-Force 500GB 3.5" External Hard Drive

Purchased this drive to server as an external HD for my Dish Network receiver. The drive lives in an entertainment center and stays cool, even next to a warm recevier. Flawless performance and data transfers occur faster than the Dish Reveiver typically estimates them to take. One note that I had not seen mentioned about this drive. There is a bright blue light behind the front grill that cannot be turned off. The light indicates power and changes intensity with drive activity. This is a little annoying as part of my home theater setup.

Drives seems to work well. Haven't performance tested it. E-Sata cable was not in box, but box says it should be. CompUSA connected me to fantomdrives and they said go to their website, click support, open an RMA claiming no E-sata cable, and they'll send you the 1M cable that should have been with it.

This hard drive is great. It works well on our home network, where we can back up our two laptops and the office computer on this single drive. The drive is solid and well made and worked perfectly, as soon as I plugged it in. Reformatting it was a breeze. I will definately reccomend it to all my friends, and I will likely buy another soon, to dedicate to pictures and music. You can't go wrong on this drive.

I works, has huge capacity and is inexpensive. The included USB cable is quite short and there is no eSATA cable included unlike previously advertised. This drive is half the speed of my previous USB 2.0 external hard drive. Ghost incremental backups used to take 5-7 minutes and now take 12-20. (connected in WinXP as optimize performance). Would probably buy it again.

This drive was purchased because of the price and it's the best thing I did for my computer and files. Its quiet and matches my mac pro great. Good buy.

this is my 6th external HD and so far working great. Very quiet, compact size (for external HD), SATA port, cheap and fast. Quality alu case provide great heat conduction (no fan) after i transfered about 350 GB data still keep cold. Absolutely good 5-star product.I recommend...

I bought this drive 2 weeks ago and the performance are better than my internal hard drive of my laptop, though I used t he USB 2.0 interface. The eSATA interface makes it possible to use it when I'll upgrade my computer and get the full performance of the HD. Quick, silent, the aluminum casing gets the heat out effectively without any fan! A must buy!

The design and look of the drive is simply beautiful. eSATA transfer is great. I use it in a completely silent room, and I can barely hear it at all.

Installation was quick and easy. This Drive is fast to open and search. Absolutely no noise or vibration problems. Excellent storage space for the money.

I purchased this drive though the CompuUSA website. I shopped around everywhere at all the 'big box' stores and heard all kinds of nightmares about Maxtor, Western Digital, Seagate... All big names in the hard drive fields. So when I finally decided on this Fantom, I was rather worried that it wouldn't work with Vista, blah, blah, blah. But to my amazed surprise, this drive kicks butt! As soon as I hooked it up, away it went! Vista found and installed it instantly. I formated it right away for NTFS and this little bugger is awesome! A great drive for the money! I'll be buying another one soon! This one is really realiable and fast! I highly recommend this Fantom Drive!

great drive, screaming fast! the g-force holds all my games. i can play them straight off the drive and you really notice the difference with esata.

Great deal for the money,A friend of mine runs a DJ business and has thousands of albums on one of his drives, He copied them all to this drive for me it didn't even fill it 20%.Now Im backing up all my personal stuff.I couldn't be happier with its performance.

POS - Purchased thru Tiger and in 48 hours it had died - Manufacture wants me to pay to sent it back to them so they can repair it.... BUY A BETTER UNIT - This product wiol not save you any money in the long run
