Works, dropped temps by about what it claims at load on my 470gtxIt's pretty straightforward to install, quite comparable to installing a nonstock cpu cooler. Adds a lot of profile (it mounts to the bottom of the card, I don't feel I could run sli with two of these mounted)Uncomplicated to install but really tedious having to individually spot the small heatsinks all more than the ram. I think this version Newegg is selling is Rev 1, whereas Rev 2 was developed to address some mounting difficulties with the 470gtx, that being stated I was able to get creative with the screws they provided and get it mounted just fine. Also with screws that thin it's simple to get carried away and snap a couple of them like I did.It's quite heavy, can't seriously look at this a con as it's to be expected, but yeah I'll almost certainly be checking the screws on the card occasionally just to make confident it doesn't strip out!

This is a great cooler and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a better cooling solution without going water cooled. This has dropped the idle temperatures on my xfx HD6870 by 10 degrees and lowered my gaming temperatures by 20 degrees!!! I used to get temperatures in the low 70s while gaming for long periods of time and now I get a max temperature of 54 while gaming non stop for 4 hours. This cooler has also allowed me to overclock my gpu MUCH higher I am currently running my gpu at 980 core clock with 1100 memory clock!!!!! This overclock gave me a substantial boost in performance and my temperatures are still lower.

worked nicely for about 2-three weeks. had to rma it although. temps began rising following three weeks or so to the point that i had to rma this cooler and my gtx 470 due to heat and artifacts. make positive you use the right standoffs and that it is seated securely. dont like the flimsy tape that attatch to the heatsinks substantially. kept worrying they would fall off. zalman and artic cooling have superior solutions for the newer cards. and omni coolit is by far the finest ive applied.

Installation was fairly straight forward and came with all the heat sinks and whatnot you would require for any graphics card.For those with reference GTX 460's, this is the Rev. two version which fits GTX 460's and GTS 450 in addition to all the newest cards. I was able to get a stable 900mhz core overclock utilizing this with max temp of 63 degrees in OCCT and Kombustor tests, vs 75+ at only 870mhz with fans at max utilizing the stock cooler. Receiving 80 fps typical on BFBC2 with all high settings, 8x msaa 16x af and 1920x1080. My mounting plate came slightly defective. Somehow, one of the corner mounting holes for the GTX 460 had been not drilled in. On the other hand, due to the fact the plate attaches at 6 locations, i was nonetheless able to install it employing five of the holes. Not that massive of a deal.Energy connector has a 4pin to 3pin/molex adapter, even so, the Řpin" isn't a true 4 pin with PWM, so if you plug it into your card, it'll run at 100%, even still, it is not that loud. If you have fan controllers, then you can just plug it into them and crank up the speed even though gaming and dial it down when not. Even if you're not going to be performing some extreme overclocks, you really should contemplate this cooler. It keeps your card cooler with little to no sound.Even at max speeds the sound is quieter than my three Scythe 120mm at full blast. Max temps while gaming only hit 53 after 2 straight hours (with 900mhz overclock).This does exhaust all the hot air into the case, but most of the hot air is blown sideways, so if you have a case with a mesh side or vents with a fan to exhaust the air, it wont be a issue (I have a NZXT Vulcan). This is a great, easy to install cooler that I'm using to cool on a pair of 5850's in the same system (final product takes up almost 3 slots it just barely fits). With the stock cooler they're very loud on load and the temperature reaches 85-90C. With the Icy Vision, they're in the low 80's with the fan turned down to almost inaudible levels!My only complaint is the regular price, crazy (was $60, now $80?!?). I pricematched for under $30.

This cooler was 1 of the only coolers that would fit a Zotac 460 gtx 1gb, due to the fact this particular card's mounting holes do not align to that of the 460 gtx reference. None, runs good. Superb cooling, my 6850 load temps dropped from 81°C to 52°C in FurMark. This is with the fans spinning at �RPM, set via my motherboard software program.The fans at full speed are quieter than stock cooling, lower their speed do to 1200RPM and they are near silent.The memory coolers STICK. This is a huge plus, I've had to deal with heatsinks that fall off the memory in the past. The 3m thermal pads for the ramsinks are a little tricky to get the protective paper off, but it's absolutely nothing main. Installation is on par with other VGA coolers I've installed. They never ever have the finest instructions but it's pretty straight forward.This cools a 6850 with ease, I highly recommend this cooler. If your mobo doesn't provide fan speed controls, pick up one of those little fan controllers.

It's a great cooler. Two relatively big fans. I set them to 23%/700rpm to cool my stock-speed powercolor 6850. Stays below 70C on furmark, without ramping up speed/noise. only drawback is that it doesn't fit the mini 4pin fan header on my gpu. had to plug into mobo (or PSU)

Very Good cooler. Saw many negative reveiws but took the risk because it was only 30 or 20 bucks on sale and when i got it i installed it new on a new xfx 5830. I dunt know what the temps were before but i hear they go up to 80 and my 5770 was idle at 40c so i installed this with mx-4 compound. When everything was done i was amazed. My card was idling at 30c and under. :O now thats gud. Thought it got in bwt my case and in the zone where the fans in my case pull air so it like makes a vishing sound in the case now unless i shut the case fans off.

The fan on my reference design Powercolor Radeon 5850 began to fail. The bearings were making a very loud and troubling grinding sound. I took the stock cooler off and attempted to apply some 3-in-1 oil to the bearings, but could not find anywhere to apply the oil.So I ordered this cooler, and it is a huge improvement.Able to hit 1050 mhz on the core, and 1250 on the memory 100% stable, and both cooler + quieter. Combined with the Gelid 12 PWM fans, my pc is much easier to use. It no longer sounds like a hair dryer, or a plane about to take off.Would recommend if you need an aftermarket cooler for a Radeon card. Silence is bliss.

The pric is awesome if buy during weekly deal, and i put it on an XFX 5870 to stop the very too noisy stock fan on it. I'm very satisfied it's now very quiet and i drop  it temperature for about 10 degrees.

I have a Evga 465 flashed to a 470. Great performance but extremely hot. After installing this heatsink/fan temps dropped by 10 degrees, well worth the $25 it cost on sale. No complaints, it did take a while to install but not really a complaint.

Got this for 24.99 which is an awesome deal for a cooler like this. I got this to replace my gtx 460 external exhaust cooler which is the worst cooler ever made by EVGA in my opinion.Installing this was a little confusing. It comes with a lot of different screws. Took about 2 hours to install.Overall I recommend it. It will go great with my msi gtx 460 in SLI!

Okay, I purchased a Zotac GTX 460 1GB two months ago. The temps during game play were reaching 90c, and the fan was very loud and annoying.I was looking for a cooler that would bring the temps down a bit 80c ish, but the main requirement was to be much quieter.Now I am the proud owner of this new VGA cooler, and am very impressed. The fans on this cooler can not be heard over my case fans, BIG YAY!Now the amazing part of this cooler. At stock voltage and clocks ( 1v, 675 core, 1350 shader, 1800 memory )the temps were 38 c Idle, and 87c to 92c stressed. I am amazed at the performance this cooler brings to the table.OC settings 1.087v, 900 core, 1800 shader, 2100 memory, these are my new temps. 28c idle, and 56c fully stressed.Gelid, I thank you for such a great and well produced productp.s. I also used your TIM compound after hearing about it's performance and I will be using it and it only from now until better comes along.

This is a long installation unless you have long finger nail to remove the adhesive paper. Instruction was easy. Run very low decibel with a resistance wired, because full speed it make noise, i didn't saw up to 2-3c difference from low speed and fast speed. What you can say about 38c idle and 60c load temp that is very low for a gtx 480. Very happy but it take 3 slot so if you planing to sli forget this cooler otherwise this is the best.

After redoing the tim on my evga gtx black ops 580 my temps were still hovering around the 75-79 point on load so I decided to search for an aftermarket cooler.After looking around I decided to settle on the gelid icy vision as I didn't want some too heavy or too large.This thing cools the card quite well and when the fans were on full 2000 rpm my temps were around 55 on load. I hooked the fans up to the mobo chassis controller and brought the fans down to about 1500 rpm and the load temps only went up 4 degrees so I must say I am might impressed. At 1500 rpm the fans blend in with the rest of my system so I don't even hear them.

for a full explanation of why it doesnt fit go to tweaktown and check out their review with pictures. You can ghetto mod it to fit I suppose, or use thermal compound like bondo to fill in the gaps between the heatsink base and your gpu. Using the correct spacers according to the instructions, the base of the cooler would not contact the gpu. There was about .15mm gap, althought the base is anything but flat so the gap is not consistant. [Note I have a stock evga gtx 470 card].The only way I was able to get some sort of contact was to use the shorter part C standoffs. Using this method, the edges clearly make contact but not the centre, and the center I suppose I could have filled with compound, but if you look closely the standoffs don’t support the card around the core. I don’t like to have to guess at the correct pressure needed for the cooler to function properly, and I sure as hell don’t like coolers that bend your card like a taco. If you want an aftermarket cooler, I'd go with the Zalman one. Or if you are think9ing of buying a gtx 470 and an aftermarket cooler, think about getting the Zotac AMP! edition or MSI twin frozr one, they both have enhanced cooling already built in.PS it is a 3 star review because NCIX only accepts 1 and 2 star reviews from people that bought the product through them and I didn't.

I was a little worreid about getting this since i've read so many negative reviews on it. I got in on sale here for 34.99 hence why i took the risk.Initial impressions was that it is bigger then i expected, the pic makes it look a lot smaller. The cooling surface area has to be at least twice that of the stock cooling, and the fans are pretty powerful too. They run at 100% all the time unless you hook a fan controller to it, not a big deal since they are pretty silent.Mounting took some time, by no means was it a small undertaking. Could have just been me though, i'm a perfectionist. In the end it was on there, although mounting pressure 'seemed' not as strong as i hoped. Turns out it was fine.The ramsinks and vrms sinks seem a bit small, so i'm keeping an eye on temps and behavior. Overclocking might be limited by it. I'd suggest getting some seperate big copper sinks if you do plan on pushing your gtx 400 series card. The is LOTS of room for some big sinks underneath. Performance was a surprise. Previously my card would cook along at 79-88c running GPU Folding 100%. This was with my 120mm full speed fan mod tot he stock cooler. I zap strapped it to the stock heatsink with the shroud off. After installing the Gelid Icy Vision i had to double take. Temps where at 54c under full load, folding. And according to MSI Afterburner it has hit 59c overnight once the room warmed up. Very impressed.Overall despite it's shortcomings, they are in places that matter least. The performance is there and that's what matters. I give this product a 4 star and would buy again, and recommend to others.

i bought this cooler for my gtx 480.i had problems before in starcraft2 where it literally boils my videocard to 100 degrees C.When I installed this thing, it brought down the load temperature to 40C (max/ultra settings in sc2 with 8 players)..sounds unbelievable but its true.. even i couldnt believe what im seein.. just make sure that when applying the thermal grease use the "pea tip" method..

I just installed this thing last night, and I just gotta say that I am very pleased with the results! I was incredibly frustrated with the stock cooler's noise level, so I needed to find an alternative to this jet engine of a fan.Lo and behold, I installed this, and both noise and temperatures dropped surprisingly well. The stock cooler managed to keep my temperatures around 88C at my overclock before, but now this cooler managed to keep it at 80C with a much lower noise level.Just a note though: For the GTX 480, instructions ask you to put spacers on the front and back of the card. ONLY put it on the back. Contact between the heatsink and GPU would be poor otherwise.
