Gigabyte 970A-UD3P AMD970 ATX AM3+ DDR3 2PCI-E16 3PCI-E1 2PCI SATA3 USB3.0 CrossFireX Motherboard
Cons:- The driver CD had a driver bug with the USB 3.0 driver -- caused the CPU to go in an infinite loop causing the usage to be 25% on idle -- gigabyte has a patch on their website.- Comes with Norton on the CD.- Linux does not work correctly with the IOMMU setting in the bios disabled(DEFAULT) I originally tried to start Mint but the Lan Controller, Keyboard/Mouse did not work without it enabled.

Pros:- 4 USB 3.0 connectors(2 on rear and 1 header)- 14 USB 2.0 connectors(8 on rear, with 3 headers)- Supports FX, Phenom, Athlon CPUs from AM3 to AM3+- Supports 125w CPUs(My last board didn't)- All Solid Capacictors -- no cheap electrolytics- 6 Sata III connectors- Multiple damage protection on circuitry - 7.1 Audio VIA VT2021 With an Optical Connector for S/PDIF output)- Motherboard a UEFI bios with a cursor -- very user friendly, detailed and intelegence with automatic UEFI detection(Rather then manual legacy/UEFI settings -- this can be disabled in BIOS however).- Front panel connectors are near the Main ATX Power Connector rather then the bottom near the USB header and Sata connectors(Front panel pins are also colored and labled with (+/-) to help identify the correct position). - 1 Four pin chassis fan connector(With two 3 pin fan connectors near the the main atx connector)- It's built like a rock- Driver CD has Google Chrome on it(Good in my opinion)
Comment:
This board is fantastic for someone who has an entry level board. I originally had an Asrock N68C-GS FX which was -- I guess you can say -- `Feature-less'(Or in my opinion anyway!)If you get passed the CD and it's problems(Typically Windows 7 does not have a driver for the LAN controller). I recommend using the CD to get the lan driver, then install everything else from Gigabyte's website or the chip's website(Via, Realtek, etc) if you know how -- to avoid problems.Other then that this board installs and runs without a hitch. Would recommend it for a good budget board and a gaming board.
