Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:Its gonna feel old in a year or so? hehe

Pros:Its an Intel:P
Comment:
Excellent CPU. Have Sunbeam Core Contact(came with TX-2 paste) cooler on it with fully arrayed CM690 case...Staying super cool atm. Presently OCing at 3990MHz with no probs, idles at 35c in Real Temp(although it shifts multiplier down to 6 from 9.5 when idled/used minimally...highest its been is 52c. P5Q Pro Mobo. Very Happy. Hope to get stable at 4200-4300 when I feel like pushing/testing how much it does or doesn't bottleneck my HD4870X2!!Preliminary is that it seems to let the GPU's be free at around the 3.9-40GHz..though I'll find for sure when the internet gets up!

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:Needs upgraded cooling for OCHeatsink seems slightly insecure

Pros:Easy InstallationStock Speed Runs Cool
Comment:
This is my first CPU about an AMD Sempron 1.0Ghz processor that I've used. The installation was very self explanatory, but the heatsink fan doesn't feel perfectly secure, at least not without some work. The CPU does seem to be running with low heat output, and the speed is quite impressive to someone who's jumped up from a low-end budget bin chip.

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:- Stock heatsink is garbage, you must get a real one.

Pros:- It's finaly cheap, after so long. However I paid 205$ only to see it 195$ 1 day later and NCIX denied my refund.- Very fast and good overclocker I could say.
Comment:
- I had a Xeon E3310 (aka E8400) which I overclocked from 3.0 to 4.0Ghz at 1.425v but I switched to the E8500 because I seen it for 205$ and found a guy at work to buy my Xeon + Scythe Ninja for 200$. Haven't got the time to do much test but it seems to go up to 4.18Ghz 1.425v now but still not 100% stable, like if I run Prime95 and do the first torture test, one thread out of two will crash quickly. Else stuff never crash unless Unreal Tournament 3 and maybe 1 other game.

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:-Stock Heatsink is garbage

Pros:-FSB-Clock Speed-Cache Size-Fast
Comment:
Very good CPU, I upgraded from a E6600 and the difference is there. It's much quicker to load stuff, and also is more responsive with my 680i board.

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:- stock HSF could be better

Pros:- awesome performance- good value
Comment:
This CPU is an amazing improvement over my previous AMD CPU (3500). Solid performance at a good price point. The only problem I have was the weak HSF that came with it. I quickly replaced that with a Noctua cooler.

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Cons:none had it boot windows with 4720 mhz with 1.5125 volts but just for booting purpose

Pros:run great low volts good temps some batches run way better then others. I have q803 chip which is running at 4333 mhz with 1.37 volts it is suggested to keep volts under 1.34 because of cpu being degraded but can be due to pll setting or more likely noob overclockers I'm running good water system so not to worried about volts
Comment:
Never overvolt unless you have good cooling, they will do 4000+ mhz with 3rd party cooler no problem sometimes with only 1.3 volts or less even suggest you go to http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=173999&page=9 over 219 pages of overclocking the 8400 and the 8500's cpus read first.
