Intel Core i5-650 Processor 3.2GHz LGA 1156 73W Dual-Core Desktop
Cons: lot of heat in a HTPC

Pros: Fast, HD Intel inside
Comment:
Installed in a Lian-Li PC-C37 on a Gigabyte H57M-USB3, Thermalright AXP-140 passive. When burning CPU and Video (in the same chip) temp jump awesome high, even with the 2 x 70mm at full speed on the side of the case directly temp goes to much high. I downclock the cpu to 2.0ghz with voltage 1v and now all works perfectly. Blu-ray need 3-10% cpu. I bought this chip but was not aware that the Intel HD was inside...bit priced for a running 2.0ghz chip but with speed and HD video, I am really happy with the HTPC.

Intel Core i5-650 Processor 3.2GHz LGA 1156 73W Dual-Core Desktop
Cons: -not an i7

Pros: -Great price/performance
Comment:
This processor was a great deal at the time. It's currently sitting in an eVGA board and can handle anything I've thrown at it. Most games can be played at max settings. Very happy with this processor.

Intel Core i5-650 Processor 3.2GHz LGA 1156 73W Dual-Core Desktop
Cons: None I've noticed.

Pros: Good PriceRuns cool
Comment:
Bought for a build for my parents and it runs very cool and is quite fast (at stock). I'm not sure how well it performs in games, but is very fast otherwise. The Intel HD video is perfect for what was needed. I'll being buying another for a second build shortly.

Biggest bang for the buck
Comment:
Bought this processor for my new gaming rig. I love it. Works great with all of my games, and I didn't have to spend much at all for the speedy performance the core i5 delivers. Works great for starcraft 2. Which is what I was going for.

Intel Core i5-650 Processor 3.2GHz LGA 1156 73W Dual-Core Desktop
Cons: bad manufacturer fan, some lag with high end movies/games

Pros: Hyperthreading on a i5 duel core, Decent Ghz
Comment:
Over all for its price I would say its alright, though I found that in games such as GTA 4 and playing 1080p movies (with CoreAVC) I was getting some spikes during play, would recommend it though for a budget gaming pc just don't keep the default fan get something else.

Good, but not great
Comment:
I completed a system build with the Core i5 because I could pair it with the H55 motherboard chipset and delay purchasing a Direct X11 graphics card. Considering 4GB memory is at $82, this was a great value build. Problem is that the performance is only about 30% better than my older Athlon II 4000 CPU paired with 8500GT graphics card. Maybe I'm wrong, but I had higher expectations.

almost perfect
Comment:
This is a great cpu for the price. It's not perfect (I wanted an i7), but it's a good dual core cpu with hyper threading. It's a definite step up from my old p4 4ghz. I don't love the fact that it has a built in gpu. I don't use it, never will, and hate that it might be cutting into my processing speed. I hope it isn't. If they'd made it without graphics incorporated into the chip, I would have bought that instead.

This thing rocks. All the speed and power I need for what I do. Even helped me lower my times on Dirt2 (no more computer lag during my online gaming). Well worth the price.

This is the first computer I have owned that was almost a fast as flipping a light switch. I love it. If I had more money I would have gone with the Core i7, but I have no complaints. It works well, the fan is quiet and I am a happy mug.

I see a lot of people leaving bad remarks for items without even knowing anything about it. Intel is doing things a bit differently now - focusing more on threads, rather than number of cores (like AMD). Remember, cores increase heat - reducing that is the objective. This is a dual-core, 4 thread processor with a built-in GPU. Most i5's come with a built-in GPU - none of the i7's do, so if you go i7, you'll have to get a dedicated video card to go with it. As for you guys that are recommending the Core2Quad over the i5, I have to say that you are wrong. The micro-architecture is different - much more efficient on the i-Cores (i3, i5, i7). As for this processor, I would certain look at the i5-661 as the alternate, you get the same overall processor with a 900MHz GPU, rather than the 733MHz that comes with the 650.

Bought the boxed set
Comment:
There were no verbal instructions (just pictorials) It does not tell you that the heatsink comes pregreased. I had trouble at first start up which wound up being caused by the power leads which wrap around the fan actually stopping the fan blade.

This is a fantastic chip. If you can't afford the i7 (like I couldn't) this is a great chip to get. Everything is fast. Plays my son's games excellent and I can do photos and music without any hiccups. recommended!

Broken fan
Comment:
It took me a while to start the CPU fan - it wouldn't start for a reason or another, I had to force it through the BIOS. But when it did, there was some friction, so it caused a heck of a ruckus and heated the processor, taking it 30C up in a few seconds up to 104C! You've never seen someone jump so fast on the power button. Otherwise, I think the processor itself is alright.
