Intel DG43NB Socket 775 MotherboardI was nervous of this board due to some of the comments below. I took a chance. It paid off. I love the board. I'm using it with a Q9400 and Vista 64. It reads all 4gb of memory and my IDE works just fine. I use it for ACVHD HD video editing and it kicks butt. I updated the BIOS to 77 and had a fan issue. Had to downgrade back to 60 to fix it. No gaming experience.

Intel DG43NB Socket 775 MotherboardI got sucked in by the price, at the time I was in need of a Mobo. Well; I had a previous mobo that saw 3.65GBS of my 4GB, This board will only see 2.56GB Period. I put in a good video card, and the ram count went to 1.99GB of Ram! While this board has many SATA ports, will not see more then 6HDS, unless you RAID them. ALSO, the ON board (IGP) Video is always on at 256MB, even if you turn it off!! Many, many errors, with Gaming and graphics, the whole reason I got the silly thing. Did not like my 27'' Acer Monitor, Intel told me directly, its not supported. The IDE header is there, but not seen by the BIOS as being there, not seen in BIOS. The board maxes out at 2.66GHZ for processor, and about 3.1 GB for ram. The board does have kick, but this is not what I'd call board for anything near games or graphics. This is just a board for just a powerful Office Desktop. Period End of story! My old MSI from 2001, SMOKED THIS BOARD, HARD. ALWAYS BUY MSI!!! ALWAYS A GOOD BUY!

Intel DG43NB Socket 775 MotherboardI just installed this motherboard and my only problem with it is that it has two many features. It is a fine board well constructed and has everything you need to get up and running without additional purchases. I would recomend this product.

Intel DG43NB Socket 775 MotherboardIntel multiple core processors report the Processor Thermal Margin (TMp) instead of the maximum chip case temperature Tc. The TMp counts down from the maximum, so it is essentially a negative number. But nobody told the Intel BIOS programmers. They treat TMp as a positive number like any absolute temperature. As a result, the processor fan is throttled in reverse. WHEN THE CHIP GETS HOTTER, THE FAN TURNS SLOWER. This is a recipe for thermal runaway. For high ambient, there is a Workaround: Cut the throttle wire to the fan (#4 on the connector, the blue wire on Intel fans that come with the processors; it can be restored later with a butt splice if necessary). Then the fan runs at constant full speed of 2600 RPM instead of 850 at room temperature, giving TMp of 52c instead of 40c, as good as an expensive aftermarket cooler, many of which use this trick. If you are willing to accept this hack, this board is an excellent, powerful value. Note: Onboard Graphics use system memory and proces

Intel DG43NB Socket 775 MotherboardOk, this board will not boot. Did the 'basic' bootup, still nothing. Checked intel's website. This board will only accept Serial Presence Detect (SPD) memory!!! show me in the Tiger Direct advertisement where it says that? Is probably a good board, but I am still trying to get it to boot (if only to the BIOS). Probably a good buy, but not so far for me, and I build lots of systems.

Comment:
Intel DG43NB Socket 775 MotherboardAt first, I thought I had a bad board. However, it turns out that it does not support OMZ 667 MHz DDR2 ram. However, despite this apparent misprint in tigerdirect's description, this board works as advertised. It is a good board to get if you want to upgrade the processor but wish to keep older parts.
