Extremely good motherboard. Once again you should go to Intel website & read the bulletins. They contain very good info before you get started.

Intel DG43NB good Motherboard
Comment:
Intel DG43NB motherboard was pretty much plug-and-play. Works good with Windows XP, first time out of the gate. The only downside was the graphics. If you plan to play videos, it would be a good idea to invest in a good graphics card.

Great Multi-Media Board
Comment:
Used this board to build a multimedia machine. The built in video and sound was crisp and clean, and allowed me to put in a HD BR drive without additional video cards. Game performance is not good - but for Blu-Ray it's perfect. Hooked it up to my 40

Save Your Old Screws!!
Comment:
If you are buying this mobo to install in an old case be sure to save the old screws! This mobo does not include any mounting hardware.

Reliable, low cost
Comment:
I purchased this board as part of a bundle with the Intel Core 2 Due E8400 processor. Assembling the computer was very straghtforward and the system booted up just fine afterwards. The only complaint I would have about this board is there are only two memory slots. If you choose to expand memory capacity in the future (and are already using the two slots), you need to replace them rather than just adding more memory. I opted also for an NVIDIA video card. it installed without any problems.

Great Board, works well. Replacing Nvidia boards I got from in a kit that were flaky and tech support was not help.

Caution
Comment:
I purchased this board when the Asus one i wanted wasnt availible at the store. I needed a board with 2 video outputs since i couldnt afford a video card after all the other stuff i needed. The Bios POST takes about 40 seconds to 1 minute and you cant disable the ''Intel'' splash. After building my system no matter what I did it would not stay ''off'' on standby or hybernate. It would turn right back on as if i had hit ''reset''. The thing that put me over the edge was that it continusly lost the boot order for the devices and would go to an old hard drive to boot from (i had to do a data transfer from my old drive before i reformated it, when i built the new system i bought a new hard drive to install the OS on for a clean install). After about 48 hours of this I contacted Intel, they said the post time was normal and that it was probably a hardware issue with the boot order and hybernate/stand-by. I ordered the Asus board and returned this one.

Excellent product
Comment:
The product works perfectly fine, and I have no problem at all. In fact, I installed Ubuntu linux instead of MS windows, it performs very well. I'm not sure why some of people have who bought the product were having problems.

NO RAID CONTROLLER
Comment:
This motherboard is great, I've ordered so many great intel boards that I just assumed this one would have an RAID controller on it...it does not. If that's not a concern then it's a great board.

I/O MCH Heat Sink Runs Hot
Comment:
Some motherboards come with a 40mm fan and mounting bracket but this one does not. I had to search all over the internet for a: Intel MCH Heat Sink Fan Mounting Bracket and purchase that and a fan separately just to keep the motherboard's MCH cool. The I/O Hub (Memory Controller Hub) gets really hot quickly without a fan. Overall it is a great board but should come with a bracket and fan like other Intel boards do.

Intel DG43NB Socket 775 Motherboard
Comment:
I was nervous of this board due to some of the comments below. I took a chance. It paid off. I love the board. I'm using it with a Q9400 and Vista 64. It reads all 4gb of memory and my IDE works just fine. I use it for ACVHD HD video editing and it kicks butt. I updated the BIOS to 77 and had a fan issue. Had to downgrade back to 60 to fix it. No gaming experience.
