Intel PWLA8391GT PCI PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter
Cons:-Didn't work as Expected

Pros:-Cheap-Easy-Install
Comment:
Didn't improve my ping or fps as some reviewers have mentioned, but maybe that is just me and I have to look into configuring it more. So for now, I spent 30 odd dollars for no noticeable improvement at all in any shape or form. Guess that makes me a sucker. =[

Intel PWLA8391GT PCI PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter
Cons:none

Pros:not intergraged takes load off cpu
Comment:
This is a simple upgrade from onboard LAN. No troubles with the install and it takes some of the load of the CPU since it does the TCP/IP work on-card instead of in windows

This is a must buy for any online gamer. I droped my World of Warcraft pings by 100ms average and my fps by 20-30FPS average. Definitely the best $36 I have spent in a long time.

Intel PWLA8391GT PCI PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter
Cons:Not PCI-e

Pros:Very fastWorks in linux
Comment:
I bought this for my router PC. It is definitely not the bottleneck in my network (my hard drives are), but I've pushed it to about 640 Mbit/sec without any problems. It's on the PCI bus, so it'll be limited in speed by the other devices also on the bus, but it's a good way to upgrade older computers to gigabit.

Intel PWLA8391GT PCI PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter
Cons:None

Pros:SmallFastReliableCheapGreat Linux Support
Comment:
I bought this product to use in one of my low-performance servers that had a Gigabyte mATX motherboard with some rare ethernet controller that wasn't supported in Linux. It doesn't take up a lot of room in the case, it is a nice fast gigabit card that doesn't drive CPU usage through the roof like some realtek chips, it is reasonably priced, and best and most importantly, it is supported in almost every Linux distribution. This is the second one of these cards I have purchased and nothing beats a reliable card that is well supported in Linux.

Intel PWLA8391GT PCI PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter
Cons:Price

Pros:Fast. TONS of features in the driver set. Offloads the work from your main CPU. Can team it up with other compatible Intel NIC. Again, more features than you need.
Comment:
Replaced a PCI gigabit NIC from Micronet with this Intel one and am I ever glad I did. It is faster and less laggy than the cheapo Micronet one and it has about 1000x the amount of features and options than the cheapo one too. If you are looking for a full featured above average NIC, this is the one.

Intel PWLA8391GT PCI PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter
Cons:Must find driver off Intel website

Pros:Fast fast fast!
Comment:
First of all, this thing isn't automatically installed by XP. I had to go and find the driver off the Intel website. But after that... frack! this thing is fast! Soooo much faster than USB2 or Firewire! Combine it with an gigabit switch, and you wonder why you have external drives at all... Oh, this this is wicked for old systems since it takes off-loads the processing power to the card, rather than have your system do it (read: faster than on-board).

Pros:- Solid, Stable- Performance- Price- Compatibility

Upgraded an older PCI-only system with integrated 10/100 ethernet chip on-board. This gigabit card from Intel is a stable, fast, proven upgrade solution - you can just plug it in and go.
