For years I've backed up my data onto CDs, then DVDs, then flash drives. The problem - burning discs takes more than 1 and later on there can be problems reading them in other PCs. The flash drives are great but expensive. This drive is small, fast, and easy to use - it just plugs in requiring not set up or installation. I have a Dell from 2002 and this will extend it's life by providing extended hard disk space - just great!

I bought a 500 gb and is 465 gb. I looked every where the other 35 and nothing. So far is a good product. I just got it and is working just fine.

I needed a small drive with fairly large capacity to copy bare metal server images to so I can take them off site weekly. I purchased two of these, which I cycle weekly. They do exactly what I need them to do. Very portable and no external power supply required.

I had this drive for about a year and it worked great. Then suddenly it started to give out. Now it only works when it wants to. I had it replaced under warranty but their refurbished hard drives do the same. This is a great drive when it works just be ready for it quit working after a year.

Decent drive, compatible with most mini USB ports and the best part of it is that you get 500GB for such a low price. Speed is ok, and there's no annoying backup software that forces you to backup the way it wants. I would recommend this highly.

works well but when i lived in pennsylvania it stayed relatively cool now im on summer vacation and moved home to texas and it gets very hot, dont know if that is how most external hard drives are but hope it doesn't affect performance down the road...so far so good though i give it thumbs up. had to edit the drive just died on me a couple months in hoping to get my money back or get it fixed..

it's hard to believe you can get so much storage for such a great price. I bought two of these as gifts for friends working in the Solomon Islands where computer equipment is hard to find and very expensive. They are thrilled with these and so far no problems.

I'm using this drive with my Nintendo Wii. It works fine formatted WBFS.

Using it as a back-up drive(2 of them) on our office server, so small I take one home at night. Easy plug-in, no power required.

THIS IS THE WORST EXTERNAL I HAVE EVER BOUGHT!!! It broke after the first month, and you have to bounce back and forth between calling and getting on this web chat to get anything fixed. I spent two hours dealing with these people only to have them tell me what I already knew, my external doesn't work it had a manufacture defect. Save your money!!!

Great drive, when I got it it was formatted in NTFS which was not what I required. I used the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool - v2.1.8 to format in FAT32 and worked like a charm, fast transfer rate, very pleased.
