Cheap, somewhat quickly The USB plug extends also quickly in your pocket, I fear at some point this will get damaged.

Picked it up for $5.99 The sliding feature adds nothing. Would probably be better if they just made it slimmer.

Functions well. I like not having a cap to shed. I suppose if I kept it in my pocket lint and whatnot could end up in the plug, but I don't so that's not an issue. None.

Low-cost. Average efficiency Why bother generating it retractable? It doesn't remain locked in any position well.

These are nice little drives especially when you catch them on sale. They aren't fast but they are small and light. I keep a couple of these on my key chain.

Kingston 8GB USB 2.0 HI-SPEED DataTraveler 100 Generation 2
Cons:Larger than other USBsLight plastic, looks like its going to break easily.

Pros:Large sizeBought it for $1/gb
Comment:
This usb is larger than others Ive had. I also dont understand why they have such a bad design to open the usb. You have to pull half the cover to make it slide exposing the end. It seems that the cover will eventually break since theres a part that will be constantly moving. A cover/lid would be better. Also the part it slides on has linear grooves. I suppose this will end up with crud inside it.

1) Much better retractable cover design versus other brands.2) Sliding cover click-locks into spot at either finish. 1) Like many of the other brands, Kingston's G2 here hangs for a brief period (anywhere from two seconds to 30 seconds) of time towards the incredibly finish of a file transfer to the drive. That price it half an egg.2) Sustained read efficiency is lackluster in that it's over all the spot. 1 second it could be speeding along reading at 22 MB/s, the subsequent it drops down to 14 MB/s. Another half an egg for inconsistency. Read: 12-22 MB/sWrite: 8-16 MB/sBurst Write: 20-42 MB/s (quickly downs to ㅄ MB/s following initially few seconds)Obviously these flash drives also conform to the market normal of rounding when it comes to storage space. So 8 GBs is truly counted as 8 billion bytes rather than 8196 MBs. Due to production difficulties, most chips will actually have much less than even 8 billion bytes of totally free storage. Therefore, we have 7.20 GBs rather than 7.45 GBs.

Its made by Kingston Slide cap locks open powerful sufficient to stay on your desk. It will slide back just putting it into your pocket, so it's pretty pointless. USB is open to world even with the cap down, appears to only shield it from getting bent, but it doesn't even do that great because it doesn't click into location stong. Wish I had purchased a model with a cap

Solid construction...eyelet for lanyard...retractable usb insert appears solid. A little brief of advertised capacity...7.21 gb not the advertised 8 gb. Otherwise not a poor drive overall.

1. No cap to lose. 2. Speed Got cheated 800MB. The flash drive has 7.2GB. The covered material is plastic, so don't let it fall. Kingston was usually my brand preference.

Decent SizeFantastic StylePrice Null It's a flash drive. It does what it's supposed to. I've usually preferred Kingston brand for memory and this is no exception. I primarily use it for media storage in my truck, and this one replaced an older model, 2GB DataTraveler I have. The old 1 still works perfectly, I just wanted to get a small a lot more space. I enjoy the retractable tip on this lineup. No silly cap to lose.

Kingston 8GB USB 2.0 HI-SPEED DataTraveler 100 Generation 2
Cons:-Slow-No key-chain cord.-Not exactly 8GB

Pros:-Stylish-Capless
Comment:
This drive is very stylish, love the way it opens. No worry of the drive coming open while in your pocket as it requires a bit a force to open (and close). I was a little disappointed at the speed of the drive, writing a 1GB file was a smooth 5MB/s the whole time, so it takes a while. The capacity is 7.25GB, which is a little under what I would expect, especially since I have a few other drive and SD card that are 7.40 or so. Doesn't came with any sort of accessories, just the drive itself so putting it on a key-chain requires extra spending. To finish it up, unlike my other USB drives, this one takes a while for Windows to load it, like a full 10 seconds, compared to instant for my other drives.
