Comment: First Blu-ray drive. Haven't had the best experiences with LG drives in the past. However, this one has been great so far. Definitely worth it for the sale price.

Comment: The best thing for me is that drive fit in the top slot of the Silverstone FT-02 with a 90 deg sata cable,with the mobo orientation in this case not all drive will fit. All my burn were a++ too.

Blu-ray supports 25/50GB per disc whereas DVD only 4.7/8.5GB per disc, so this is a definite win.It worked perfect out-of-the-box and burned discs with no issues.

All other reviews here agree, but I noticed one negative remark about the aesthetic looks of this beauitful looking 10x BD-drive. However, I am glad My best BD drive stands out from my other drives for two reasons: it's easier to find it against the black metalic mesh trim on my super-tower, and all the black bezels on my other drives seem too indistinguishable. Read and write speeds worked as specified, and I have had no issues with the burnt disks working in my other drives including the Blu Ray player in the TV room.Picked this on up on sale for $ 109.00 here at NCIX, very happy with th eperformance, and the price.

I contacted New Egg and told them I did not get any software with the drive. They told me that they would look into it, a week later nothing !! Pros: Drive works great, Delivery was on time. "BUT" Read on Comment: Be aware if yours does not come with the software it cost $79.00 to purchase it. Also it did not come with any power or Sate cables. I am a little upset with Newegg for not at least emailing me why they cant send me the disk.I will keep the drive because I am hoping they will read this and fix this problem.

For 150$ you get burning capabilities for at least 10 years of movie media. Pros: + Futureproof+ Lightscribe+ These have dropped price recently Comment: I like the ribbed effect this drive has, but I guess it could be hit or miss although it is barely visible. Lisghtscribe is always cool. This comes with tons of mostly useless software and a blank blu-ray disc which is a nice touch.

Comment: After easily installing this into my 800D tower, I went ahead and installed the software. It was my first time ever looking at Blu ray quality movies on my 1080p LED LCD and I was blown away. Put Avatar Blu ray into the drive and very happily enjoyed my first Blu ray movie experience :)

I have burned a few Verbatim LTH discs without any issue using Imgburn. I am very pleased. I don't usually fuss much over cosmetics, especially since it is so subjective, but that is all there is to complain about: The silver line across the front is quite ugly in person. The 'ribbed' look to the rest of it isn't so hot either. What computer case would this match?The Blue LED is nice though, it is not blindingly bright!

It comes with everything you need to get going and has Over Speed support. I can write on my 2X media at 4X.Also, spins noiselessly for the most part (Blu-Ray playback). It picks up during heavy reads, however.

It comes with a Verbatim 25GB 6x BD-R. I purchased a 20 pack of Verbatim 25GB 4x BD-Rdisks - Nero is burning these at 8x speed. I am very happy with this drive so far - LG makes great products. Pros: Easy set-up, right out of boxMakes good burns Comment: I just got this burner the yesterday and thought I'd mention some early impressions. The box came with a Super Multi Blue Install Disc that included Cyberlink programs such as PowerDVD 8, Power2Go, Media Show, PowerProducer, and Youcam. It also installs a UDF reader and a LG burner update utility. The only ones I bothered to keep were PowerDVD 8 (since I was still using v5) and the 2 utilities. The rest were bloatware, imo.It also came with a power adaptor and SATA cable. The power adaptor was way too short for an already occupied PC case. I really had to dig in there to connect it up. Secondly, there isn't enough space behind the drive so the 2 connectors couldn't be fully inserted. However, it was enough to get the thing working.The box also came with a Verbatim BD-R 6x. This was nice as I can't even buy 6x BD-R's easily.However, here's a list of issues encountered1) I did run into a problem with a Verbatim DVD+RW 8x disc (disc ID RICOHJPN-W01-01). I could burn this at 8x without any issues on my old Pioneer DVR-112. However, the LG burner would only recognize 2.4x as a burn speed. This was with both Nero 9 and IMGBurn 2.5.0.0. I believe this to be a firmware problem. (I should mention I also popped in a TY DVD-R 16x and that was recognized correctly.)2) When using a Verbatim BD-RE 2x, Nero would only show 1x as a burn speed with IMGBurn would show 2.4x. Maybe a software issue?Overall, it seems to burn fine - at least for the Verbatim BD-RE and BD-R discs I was using. BTW, I could burn the included Verbatim BD-R 6x at a 10x burn speed and the Verbatim BD-R 4x media at a 8x burn speed. For both, I chose 8x and they seem to be fine.* However, I hope LG is able to fix these firmware issues. *As an aside, I was trying to burn the BD-RE as a data disc to play avi files on my LG BD370 player. After spending several hours trying to figure it out, here's how it's done:1) Use the IMGBurn guide for burning BD in the IMGBurn forums.2) Put your avi/mkv files into a BDMV folder. You can create subdirectories if you want.3) Burn the BDMV folder with UDF 2.504) You're good to go.
