works well easy to install... BUT... it sounds like a leaf blower... so if you dont want to hear you're movies then its a good deal... Or if you're just using it to boot disks to install drivers and games, then its a good deal. But if you're using your computer as a media center... invest in a blud ray drive... worth the extra money.

Bought the Lite-On internal DVD to replace a dead one in a customer's computer. It was an older Dell desktop, and recognized the drive to read, but refused to recognize it from any software that needed to write. Put it in my high end custom desktop running Win XP Pro, and had same results.

I bought this for my mothers computer to upgrade it. I installed it myself and it worked right away and continues to work. She loves it. It was easy to install and use.

Seems like a good drive. I just needed a cheapy to put into my Home Server. LOUD, But can be expected. Nice cheap drive for installing drivers.

Yes I agree with Daniel that you do need (codec) to look at DVDs on your PC. This DVD-ROM as been working with no problem. It does what is expected. Good Product!

Yet another idiot that has no business doing their own computer work. CODEC learn what it is and install it before you start flaming a product

This drive played CD's fine but only video from DVD's. Contacted Lite-on and they suggested I purchase a $50 fix for a $20 drive. Pitiful! A web search revealed others having similar issues but no solutions anywhere. I will return it if I can't find a solution soon.
