This appears to be a great little unit. I've only had it for about a month or so, but based on its excellent build quality, I anticipate that it will be with me for quite some time. This unit is small but sturdy - which are both exactly the features I was looking for in a mini-switch.I used this to replaced an old 5-port 10/100 switch that went kaput. I stated as a weakness that the switch does not support gigalan, but hey - it's not on a gigalan network so I don't need it. If you need gigalan, there are other options, but for a compact 10/100 switch - this looks to be a really terrific unit. So it's not a weakness that it doesn't have gigalan - it does what it says it does, and it does it well.As far as 5-port 10/100 unmanaged switches go, this is up there with the best of them. |

Cons: mounting holes too small

I picked this up to extend my network which now includes 8 wired/wireless PCs/Laptops and 3 wireless devices. I now have a WRT54G, a gigabit 8 port switch and this 100 bit switch on my network. The size is great, good build quality but the mounting holes are far to small. I had to use finishing nails instead of screws to mount it to the wall. |

For $34 this is an excellent buy. The construction of this little switch is very solid, the case is made out of steel. Size-wise, it's about the size of your hand.I've been using this switch on my network for quite some time. I have never experienced any disconnects or any other issues. Also, it has always kept up to 10/100 network speeds without a problem.I highly recommend this switch to anyone looking for a good, affordable solution. |
This switch has very good build quality, the casing is metal and you quickly realize just how well built this thing is. It's only 10/100 but I had no use for it and for the price I don't mind at all, it's also very small and is pretty much able to fit in the palm of your hand.
