It's a smal board and is very straightforward to install. The directions are clear. This MB keeps shutting down. It might have a brief. But it could be the CPU. I'm not positive. I got it to function extended adequate to load every little thing onto hdd. will maintain it uncomplicated and factual. At 1st I could not get the board to load up totally. Pulled the ram and it worked. Put the ram back in, and nothing at all. Played with it and got it to boot.Following that, the method runs, but it only reads 1 stick of ram. If I go into setup, it shows physical mem of 1024 and cache of 2048. Tried each sticks in each slots in distinct combos, including just 1 in dimm 1 and then just 1 in dimm 2. Reads each, no matter what slot, but when with each other, only reads a single. The technique is extremely unstable, locks up and crashes a number of instances in much less than 12 hours. It was good enough to load technique and I am RMAing the board for a unique board. This was a extremely basic build, pentium dual core, kingston value ram (suggested by msi sight for this board), and a WD 500 gig hdd. Practically nothing significant, just turned out to be a nightmare with all the Dimm difficulties. When I bought, there have been constructive testimonials, following I purchased, all the negative reviews popped up, go figure. Will say this. Book is nice and detailed and was an easy place collectively, just turned out to be a negative board, and there seems to be numerous of them. Also, customer service got my e-mail and got back to me Extremely quickly. They told me it sounds like I got a terrible board and to RMA it. I like Gigabyte and Biostar boards, but other people like Msi and Asus. Dont seem to matter for these boards, all of the boards for the pentium dual core seem to be flawed in some way or one more. Dont be concerned MSI, give you yet another try in future for a distinct create. Nowadays just wasnt your day. MSI for USA is quite helpful with problems. If you are having any driver issues, download the newest drivers for your motherboard then do not forget to download the newest drivers for any paripherals (USB, PCI, and so on). If you are working with any Windows OS, often remember to verify Windows Update. I emailed MSI prior to I bought the board and they told me that they believed that the PCI Express x16 was the 2. version but the internet page says 1. version. The PCI Express x16 works without having any challenge with my SPARKLE SXT430512S3LNM GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 512MB 64-bit DDR3 PCI Express two. x16 so I truly have no complaints. When your computer system begins to run slow, keep in mind to Defragment more than and more than. Then it appears to fly.

As I stated in the reveiw "Solid" this is a fantastic board for the dollars. It still performs ok for me. Right after owning this board for a few months I have grown a small aggitated with the onboard sound card. The front mic and headphone jacks do not work. Oh but don't be concerned! You can use the ones in the back--um ah nope! They don't function either. You can use the output for amplified speakers with no issue--um ah nicely soon after alot of tweeking and wishfull pondering ( it is nearly like boxxing with your Pc.)I looked around on the MSI and Realtec web site for a driver that would assist but discovered none. What I did find was a lot of other peeple possessing the similar troubles with this onboard sound card on numerous various MSI MoBos when I searched google. Hmmmmm?Don't get me incorrect, I like this MoBo. It just appears to me that MSI would have completed one thing by now to repair this given that it is such a well recognized dilemma. The two egg rating is for the lack of action on the component of MSI to fix this situation. This board performs nicely and I am still satisfied with it. If you can reside with no a mic and headphones this just may well be the MoBo for you. I am just a little dissapointed with MSI. Cost is okay. Onboard video seemed decent. Height of the audio panel seemed to make acquiring the board under a 120mm rear fan really tight. Had to update the BIOS to be capable to use any far more than 1 GB of memory even though, that was really disappointing. MSI's info on the updates made it sound like it was just becoming displayed incorrect, but the method couldn't use it. Don't know how you release a board or go by means of 3 or 4 BIOS updates prior to anybody fixes a thing like that.

Low value, excellent construct excellent, and fantastic documentation Only 4 SATA port, and two of those are side mounted. Requirements at least one a lot more PCI slot. This was purchased in a combo deal with a CPU and 4 gigs of RAM. It was my first computer system build, so I didn't want to invest alot of funds on the hardware in case I messed it up. The documentation that came with the motherboard was excellent and walked me via the construct procedure in a step by step manner. They integrated an insert that explained how to flash the BIOS so that the motherboard would recoginize the second stick of memory. I had under no circumstances flashed BIOS just before and I was in a position to adhere to directions and flash it successfully. I was in a position to assemble all of the elements and the program posted and is operating fine so I am pleased with the obtain.

Board is precisely as advertised, the Live Update tool makes it possible for for simple updating of BIOS and chipset drivers. Documentation is exceptional, and for the price this is quite the motherboard. The OC switch is a handy feature, specially when combined with a Wolfdale core Pentium. This is a good board for a media center, workplace laptop or computer, or even a low end gaming Computer. It was a bit inconvenient to have to update the BIOS prior to installing the second stick of RAM. Even though it's accurate that the board ships with an error in the BIOS, it is a lot more than made up for by the board's overall performance and the simplicity of the BIOS updates (easier to do than most motherboard driver installations.)

Great board all about; nice layout, issues aren't covered up when a huge video card is place in, the rear panel is decent, and the FP audio connector is in a excellent spot. But, attempt placing a firmware RAID on this... not gonna work, at least not SATA. All I wanted to do was place a RAID1 on two drives. I was never ever in a position to enter into the RAID setup... the solution just wasn't there. Not grayed out, not selectable then reverts-- just absent. Application based RAID in windows functions nicely sufficient.

- Low Price- Onboard DVI video support- LGA775 socket supports older Celeron CPUs- Mainly plug & play installation - "Plain Jane" I/O panel (minor complaint; no color-keyed markings)- BIOS default for CPU fan is max speed Overall I'm quite pleased with this board. I purchased two of these to "modernize" some Acer desktop machines which had been stuck in 2005 with WinXPPro. They have an onboard video and NIC which could not be created compatible with Win7 (no drivers). The fantastic news is that these Acers had Celeron D 3.06 GHz CPUs which support 64-bit operation. I managed to upgrade these two PCs for basic office function for less than 赨 including the MSI motherboard, 4Gb RAM, and a 500Gb 7200 RPM HDD & Win7 HP upgrade from XP. Thanks Newegg!Relating to my con about the BIOS. For some cause, MSI has it defaulted to run the CPU fan at max speed with no temperature monitoring even although the feature is there and can very easily be invoked. When I 1st powered up the board, the CPU fan was howling and I couldn't figure out why until I went into the BIOS. Effortlessly fixed, just rather odd, I thought.

I like the board, good deal for the cost, or is it? Do you get what you pay for? The board will not post, it worked if I did not fill Dimm 2, but it only has two memory slots, and the combo came with dual channel. To date there are seven evaluations not counting this, and three of them (two of which did not exist at the time I purchased) are saying the board does not post due to memory issues. RMA'ed last night, we will see what the replacement brings..... I was a major fan of MSI and would have chocked up this encounter to a one in a million, but with the other negative evaluations it appears MSI has distributed a faulty create... Where is the QA MSI??????? Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued MSI Customer,We would like to apologize for the issue you have skilled with this particular mb. extremely low expense , seem to be quite very good quality, good color scheme ,24 bit audio and it worked right out the box and it let me overclock my e5200 2.5ghz all the way to three.6ghz can you belive that on a 50$ board man i dont feel there is one ram i utilised was 4gb of geil 1333mhz and i have that running at 1152mhz @ 6-6-6-15 and a ati 4890 or a gtx465 works perfect so truly for 400$ you can have a killer gaming rig i man super happy with this board

Put this into a spending budget gaming rig for a friend, and worked effectively. Posted initial try, and was cake to install in a mid tower. Recognized a 45 nm e3400 with no bios update.(yes, a celly) Powers an msi gts 250 flawlessly. Scored on benchmarks as superior as computers costing twice as a lot.(No overclock) Only two ram slots, and terrible overclocking interface, but it's not mine, so I don't care. My friend spent a total of 跴 on this setup (although I sold him the video card for a lot much less than retail) All in all a great value taking into consideration it'll play crisis.
