Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 Processor BX80580Q8300Got this for my first build. Installed to asus p5n-d no problem, however the stock cooler was very finnicky to install on that board. got rid of it after a day and installed a OCZ Vendetta. skip on this and just get the CPU and a different cooler.

Excellent combination with fast bootup and significant speed improvement of all operations checked. Nice crossover board with both IDE and SATA. Great value!!

MSI G41M-P33 MotherboardArrived promptly with a Core2 Quad 2.5ghz chip. Not made in America but... Motherboard was easy to install and so far hasn't failed me yet. Very fast with the Core2 Quad and the DDR3 ram running Windows 7. Seems stable after a month, and I'd probably buy another one if it wasn't made in Taipei.

The only drawback as another reviewer pointed out is the mounting system for the CPU cooling fan is terrible. I struggled with it for two hours before cutting off the silly push-n-twist assemblies. I bought four nylon No. 6 bolts 32 thread x 1 inch, which made assembly easy.

Don't be put off by the fact that it's only 2.5Ghz because you can overclock this CPU (with proper cooling) to 3.4Ghz which is almost overkill. Great CPU for the money.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 Processor BX80580Q8300This CPU is amazing, however before you purchase, make sure that your motherboard can not only support Quad Core, but it can also support York field Architecture. The nForce 6 series will not use this cpu, so I went with the 780i, which will allow you to over clock it. My CPU is running at 3.0Ghz without any heat performance issues.
