MadCatz SAITEK® Pro FLIGHT™ X-55 Rhino H.O.T.A.S. SYSTEM™ for PC
Cons:Big foot print can be both a disadvantage and advantage depending on your set up. Non slip feet could be bigger to provide a little more traction. I fixed this by putting a small non slip mat under mine.

Pros:Lots of options and configurations available - customizable to your hearts content. Although it is primarily plastic it has pretty good weight and build quality. Comfortable grips.
Comment:
This is my first high end HOTAS set up and I have to say I have not been disappointed. I bought this days before xmas and it was delivered quickly. I have been playing Elite Dangerous and the numerous key bindings possible may this an ideal companion. I have not tried this set up with X-plane yet but I am not expecting to be disappointed. I found the spring set up out of the box to work fine and I have not experienced any clicking or grabbing of the flight stick in yaw or any other motion. I would definitely buy this again and unless you are really into sims and spend a lot of time every day I can not see a reason to spend $300 more for the next step up.

MadCatz SAITEK® Pro FLIGHT™ X-55 Rhino H.O.T.A.S. SYSTEM™ for PC
Cons:- Base has quite a large footprint- Not a lot of available profiles so far- Rhino software can be confusing- Stick movement is somewhat 'sticky'

Pros:- Build quality is adequate- Twist axis- Rhino software allows for extensive customization
Comment:
The unit I received earlier this week had some greasy substance on both the stick and throttle unit (probably dry PTFE lubricant) but it was really easy to clean-off.Build quality appears to be good (maybe not quite there with the Warthog) but I was expecting a lot worst based on early reviews of the product.I haven't had any 'ghost button issue' but I'm following Mad Catz recommendation here: http://support.madcatz.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/518/176/x-55-ghost-button-issue).The stick is comfortable for long game-play sessions but will show fingerprints easily and it is somewhat 'sticky' (it required a bit of force to move from the centre).
