Mediasonic HF2-SU3S2 Black 4 Bay External Enclosure
Cons:Can randomly disconnect while xferring and has to be reset.Door mechanism broke almost immediately it's very delicate. So now it only stays closed after 10 plus tries to keep it closed.I'll probably have to permanently remove it.

Pros:USB3 is faster than anything else I can get, usually get just over 100mb/s. Reads 2Tb drives fine. Nice lookin box. Easy installation. Runs quiet.
Comment:
Overall very happy with it. Hopefully with updates they can fix the Random disconnect problems people are having. I've only had it happen a couple times. Fast, quiet drive bay, very sleek. Works with Patriot Box Office media player box perfectly!

Mediasonic HF2-SU3S2 Black 4 Bay External Enclosure
Cons: Even though it says it's USb 3.0 and I have the fastest laptop curenty out here, the MSI GT680 with 2 USB 3.0 ports, the fastest speeds I aquired with this using WD 2TB Green drives is 50M/MB/s which really isnt that great IMHO. The box says faster but very misleading

Pros: USB 3.0True Plug & Play.Small & Compact with great air flow, strong fan with auo & manual speeds.LED Access displayaccepts sata drives
Comment:
Overall happy with the item and true plug & play with USB 3.0. Faster than 2.0 however often times I would get 5 MB/s with up to 50MB/sOrdered online through NCIX and they price matched with NewEgg special for $134 and picked up at the wharehouse in Markham.Overall def recommend for archiving.I use it as just a bunch of hard drives for photo & video archiving as I use a laptop SI GT680 as my only computer

Mediasonic HF2-SU3S2 Black 4 Bay External Enclosure
Cons: Does not play well with WHS

Pros: Great speed with USB3
Comment:
I tried to get this to work with WHS and a WD 2TB EARS drive. No dice. Everytime I would add the drive to the pool, everything seems great, but when I restarted the server, the drive would show up as "unadded". Tried eSATA and USB. Same issue. replaced the enclosure with a Thermaltake BlacX and everything worked great. Took the enclosure back as I had not further use for it.

Mediasonic HF2-SU3S2 Black 4 Bay External Enclosure
Cons: Not Network connected (NAS)No RAIDInstructions are very limitedeSATA and USB cables that come with it are too short (about 3Ft)

Pros: 4-BaysLook niceUSB 3.0eSata
Comment:
Got this for $139 (with pricematch) which is a great bargain for a 4-bays enclosure. It is USB 3.0, of course there's almost no boards that support it yet, but in a near future it will be a nice advantage. For now you can still use it as a USB 2.0 without any problem. Or you can plug it with an esata cable. If you intend to use eSATA, take in consideration that the ports on your motherboard need to support PORT MULTIPLIER, or you will be able the see only one drive, the first one. If your motherboard do not support this technology, you will be forced to buy an additionnal PCI/PCIe eSATA card, OR use it with a USB cable, and then you'll lose a great amount of speed (eSATA = 3Gbps, USB 2.0 = 480Mbps). This enclosure does NOT support RAID at all. If RAID is something important to you, then you might consider buying the PRORAID BOX version instead, which is, of course, more expensive. All that said, I still give it 5 stars. As I knew what I was buying and there's been no deception so far. It is one of the cheapest option out there to add up to 4 hard drives to your computer (2Tb each max for a total of 8Tb). Plus you can easily bring it with you everywhere.Overall great purchase !
