Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack
Cons:No XP mode in this versionIE and the other useless programs it comes with are still useless

Pros:Better GUIMuch better at utilizing ramVariety of new featuresFinally a OS that dominates XP
Comment:
Windows 7. Is it another Satisfactory OS like Vista was? I wasn't sure. But i'm a tech geek, so I got the cheapest version to try it out. First thing I noticed is that my computer was FASTER then it was when I used XP and of course, the resource consuming Vista. It has a variety of new features, with a all new look on paint that is kind of like microsoft word, office and those kinds of programs. Unfortunately, I found out I got the license that cannot use XP mode, which sucks.Overall, BEST OS EVAR!!!! Lol!!!

Cons:none

Pros:secureuser friendly
Comment:
It was easy to install. Windows 7 is very nooby friendly. You can easily customize it to look and act exactly like the original windows xp. For example: I prefer the xp quicklaunch toolbar. Hidding the windows 7 quicklaunch and replacing it with a new one only took a few mouse clicks.

Windows XP was great and even better than Vista, which hindered the upgrade path for many users. But now that Windows 7 is here, its introduction is just like its predecessor XP, it has changed the experience and made it a whole lot smoother, easier and simpler to work with.Very fast, quick install and cool features.

I switched back from Vista to XP a while after vista came out. But after only briefly trying Windows 7, I know I won't go back. The interface is modernized, without getting you lost.

Best Windows operating system since XP. It boots fairly quickly, easy to install devices, most don't even need to install drivers as Windows 7 has many already to go. Extremely user friendly.

Cons:Microsoft....cannot wait for a google OS.

Pros:Much nicer than Vista. In every way. put it on my new SSD and away we went on the fast train to grudge free computing.
Comment:
Windows Media Player and IE are both, still, junk. If you are smart you'll pop Chrome or Firefox on there. Foobar and Songbird are very good audio players..VLC is still king for the video.Glad my new g700 mouse didn't clash with it either.

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack
Cons:-more bloated than XP-more Windows explorer shell annoyances

Pros:-modern GUI aesthetics-manages hard disk fragmentation much better than XP
Comment:
No surprise that with each new OS from Microsoft, bloatware never dies. I plan to one day re-install from scratch with my pre-installed OEM laptop to get rid of the excess junk.Another con is how they butchered the classic shell. Why they removed basic functionality such the status bar (which is supposed file info including as file size, etc.) is beyond me. You also have to either double-click a folder or the tiny white arrow to the left to open it, rather than single clicking in XP. These are merely two small examples of a dozen other annoyances. One thing I have to give it credit compared to XP is that it manages disk fragmentation so well: using the same defragmenter tool (Puran Defrag), they layout has barely changed since the last run months ago. Windows 7 also more intelligibly handles various other operations behind the scenes, such resource monitoring and other performance improvements like SuperFetch and ReadyBoost.

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack
Cons:Too much automatic stuff

Pros:stable OS, easy fo the typical home user
Comment:
So far I have found win 7 to be really stable, but my preference is to not have so much automatic stuff. I dont care if it wants to help me download files from my camera... I guess I am old school... I also find the netwroking a bit more difficult than win xp. Again, it wants to do everything automatically... well, I want to configure everything manually.. so let me do it!

Cons:- over-secuity

Pros:- Stability- Keystroke savers- Doo-dads
Comment:
Surprisingly, an actual improvement over XP. No freezes or crashes so far. Nice little touches like time-saving devices and handy, useful 'gadgets' etc. Better internet security too. The negative: The difficulty involved to overcome the 'Access Denied' to files. My computer! My files! But now with access restored, I am quite pleased.

Pros:Less incompatability errors than Vista

I don't know too much about operating systems, but it seems Win7 is the OS Vista was supposed to be. It is streamlined and looks great. The firewall seems effective. The ease of use is also fine (My dad could make the switch from xp quite easily).I would definitely recommend it.
