OS was disappointing
Comment:
Sure it's a new latest and greatest from microsoft and it came with Internet Explorer 8, which is the reason why I have such low marks on this product. Has a few new bells and whistles, but a few us all bought new computers and IE 8 locked up all the time, (we are all on different service providers, so that wasn't it. I downloaded Firefox and have had no issues with that browser! |

Works Like a Charm
Comment:
Windows 7 is definitely the best thing Microsoft has released. Replaces my Xp with it. Just poped in the disc and it did the rest for me. I strongly recommend this. |

Change Windows 7 - 32 Bit to 64 Bit
Comment:
Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium software was obtained to change home computer from 32 bit version of the same operating system. The Easy Transfer utility allowed storage of files and settings on an external drive and after installation of the new Windows 7 software and reinstallation of other programs the utility allowed restoration of essentially every file and setting. This accomplished exactly what I intended and allows for the use of more RAM than the 32 bit version of Windows 7 would use. |

In my opinion, this is Microsoft at it's best. Windows 7 is a fantastic OS for general home use. Check out that price! Remember when vista first came out, and how expensive it was in comparison? I'm liking this new direction and I hope the boys at MS stick with it. It's a great OS designed with the consumer in mind. 64 bit is the way to go with the latest increases in memory. If you're building a system with 4gb or more RAM, do yourself a favor and get the 64 bit version! |

I like It
Comment:
I up graded from Windows XP Home Edition 32bit, at the time I didn't realize it was OEM Edition. So I had to back up my hard drive, and do a fresh install. Some of my 32bit programs didn't transfer, but, overall I am happy with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. To me, it runs 100% better than previous versions. |

Mongoose
Comment:
Everything you would expect after all the negative press that Vista got. It is the best version of windows ever, but if you plan on using photoshop, make sure to have 6-8gbs of ram. With only 4, it is not effective to allow photoshop to use 3, because the operating system needs at least 1.5. Photoshop works best at above 3gb. Also, make sure you set up your RAID during the windows installation, its more difficult if you wait until after. |

Microsoft, what do you expect
Comment:
i have had 0 problems with it, the i can say is it does take a pretty strong pc to run it the right way. I dont like not being able to partition the hd and run another os, but it does take the place of almost any os you would need. Was going to get pro but because the price i didnt, but the home edition does anything you could want it to. I will say that so far, (even after running the beta for a while) that i am very pleased with windows 7, i didnt get to use vista i herd such bad reviews about it but thats what my grand mother uses problem free (also has a fast comp). my system specs are 2.2 quad core amd, asus m4a78pro mobo, 4 gig 1066mhz cosair ram, 320gig 7200rpm sata segate hd, with windows 7 home 64bit, xfx ati radeon 5770 video, creative sb audigy (a cheap sound card) performance is very good! |

Windows 7 It's all that it's cracked up to be
Comment:
Windows 7 Microsoft worked with many vendors during the development of Windows 7 so when it was released folks could get their updated drivers. This adds to the joy of running Windows 7. The bummer is that MS thinks you can only have one unhassle installation on the same machine, and turns a reinstallation into an unneccessary nightmare. If you have a nonfailing hard drive and a computer that never needs upgrading, then this one install problem of Windows 7 will not be a problem for you. As good as Windows 7 is, I still want another operating system, lol. |

Great when it works
Comment:
I have this OS on all of my other computers and it works great, we love it. I bought this to install on my computer and it kept crashing. I found out that my motherboard wasn't compatible with this OS. My bad, good excuse for an upgrade though! :) This is a great OS, just make sure your computer can run it first. |

Love the features and really helped speed up my computer. HUGE DIFFERENCE going for Windows Vista 32 bit to this. Keep in mind Windows photo gallery and Windows mail is not on this u have to download these programs from windows live. this was not a big deal at all for me. |

Upgraded from vista home premium to windows 7 home premium. It was a snap once the cd was installed and followed the instructions done in about 40 min. This computer was brand new with no other software on it so can not say how it would be on a used computer but there was not or has not been any problems. Not a fan of windows live but am getting use to it.
