Norco C-SFF8087-4S SFF-8087 to 4X SAS/SATA Breakout Cable
Cons:none

Pros:Works well in my rpc-4224 case
Comment:
Good length for Norco rpc-4224 case, seem more robust than the monoprice breakout cables I have tried.

Performs. No issues. Solid cables. Utilizing inside my NORCO RPC-3216 with 16 hot swappable SAS drives. The cable connects to the connectors in the case very easily. Nice strong snap keeps it attached. None. Amazing server chassis, excellent functioning cable. Now to only fill all 16 bays with drives.

Quick. Does not perform with 4310 and 4320 cards. I thought SFF-8087 was a regular?. Purchased a no name brand SFF-8087 break-out to replace this and it worked fine. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Consumer,This is reverse breakout cable. For SFF-8087 connectors RAID controller cards like Highpoint 4310 and 4320, you want forward breakout cable.Best Regards,Norco Help Team

Inexpensive Does not operate with my Lsi Mega raid 8308 ELP I'm not positive why this doesn't work. The documentation for this card, says that it needs 8087 36pin cables. :\

Function as indicated/expected Price.Cables could be less costly. The cost of these cable promptly add up if you have a massive disk array.

It just functions. Shipping cost? Just getting nitpicky right here though. Using in RPC-4220 with on-board SATAII connectors.

Comment:
Inexpensive, Does what it is supposed to do- connect four sata's to a mobo from a backplane. Working with one of these with two aoc-saslp-mv8's in a norco 4220 and it all functions great so far. Does shipping being practically half once more the price tag of the cable count?

Not substantially to say, cable performs and feels durable sufficient. Making use of it to go from motherboard to SAS backplane on a Norco RPC-4224. None

Please read other thoughts before buying! Please read other thoughts before acquiring! This is a reverse cable -- to connect a controller (SAS Initiator -- HBA or RAID Adapter) by means of the 4xSata connectors to a Backplane -- Through the SFF-8087 connector. With this cable, the SFF-8087 connector can NOT be plugged into a SAS HBA or RAID adapter, and the 4xSata connectors can NOT be plugged into SATA tricky drives. It's the other way around :)In other words -- If you are trying to connect SATA hard drives to a SAS HBA or RAID Controller -- this cable will NOT perform. The cable you want will look Exactly the similar, but the pinout (internal wiring) is different, trust me.

Norco C-SFF8087-4S SFF-8087 to 4X SAS/SATA Breakout Cable
Cons:Pretty expensive, I guess, but you likely won't these types of cables for much cheaper.

Pros:Good length, and it does what it says it will
Comment:
I got a few of these specifically to connect my motherboard's SATA ports to the SAS ports on my Norco 4224 backplanes. I think the cables are a bit pricey for what they are, but I suppose they're a pretty niche item. If you're doing the typical 4224 unRAID build, I recommend getting these cables for your motherboard ports, and ordering the SAS to SAS cables from Monoprice for your Supermicro card.

Comment:
Cheap cable, does what it needs to. A way to bundle the cables all the way to the finish would be nice for setups exactly where they're all ending up in the same place. Getting them separate is additional flexible, though, so it's understandable. I'm at the moment working with two of these cables to run 8 SATA drives for a ZFS setup. I've completed about 2.5tb of reads and 2tb of writes over these cables so far, mostly sustained and sequential. This cable is only useful for a fairly certain type of setup. You should be going from SATA on a SATA card or motherboard, to an SAS backplane with only SATA drives plugged into it. You can\'t use this to plug SATA drives into an SAS port. You can not use this to plug SAS drives into a SATA port. You can only use this for a SATA adapter and SATA drives, with an SAS/SATA backplane. Excellent for RPC-4220 case or comparable, in particular if you have lots of SATA ports on your mobo and/or a SATA card like the AOC-SAT2-MV8.
