Comment:
Worked for about 3 months getting flawless resulting running by OS - Windows Vista 64-bit, I wanted a Solid State Drive for my main operating system as well as all my Windows assets and use my Raptor drives for games. Worked wonderful for 3 months with no any flaws in boots, operations, or issues. after three months the hard drive failed, returned it to manufacturer and waited a week for a replacement, got back the replacement and the drive was dead on arrival, did it a third time and got back my original tough drive... how do I know cause I saw the knic that was made in the lower ideal corner of it when I initial got it and put it into my computer system. I figured it was referbished, but I nevertheless found some of my old files embedded on it and attempted to reload Windows, failed a week later. I've provided up on SSD for the moment, Im running a 80GB Raptor for my OS that I typically use for backups. Maybe its just the brand, but I dont have the cash to experiment about between OCZ and Intel. And I personally have a grudge with Intel Processors. Comment:
This drive is great. It genuinely shows progress in SSD as I have observed no bugs in this drive. It pretty a lot maxes out the bandwidth space of present Intel SATA 3Gb/s ICH/PCH boards. After about a month of use I have seen this drive keep speed correct in-line if not a little above published specs. Costly appropriate now for $ per GB. Also, the drive only has about 94GB offered of the 100GB advertised. This is widespread for storage manufacturers to quote size this way; they like to believe a GB is 1,000,000,000 bytes exactly where Windows says a GB is 1,073,741,824 bytes. I genuinely can't knock an egg for this because it is so typical for HDD/SSD manufacterers to quote this way. I didn't even require 2 in RAID0, like I did Vertex 1. A single is great.

Unbelievable speed. I bought two, verified TRIM ability, installed software program, Imaged my dual Velociraptors, and snapped it on to dual Vertex two... 512MB/s typical. If I could post a picture, I'd be glad to. WIE went from 6.three on dual raptors, to 7.9, dual vertex2 I gave it a four, because the screws that comes with it are A) non-normal, and B) not even the screws supplied BY OCZ could fit appropriately on one side. This may appear minor, but most individuals who would acquire these items devote sufficient to have tool-much less situations. Now envision forced to use tools since the screws that come with your case, OR THE ONES SUPPLIED, don't fit. All in all, performance smart, wonderful. Price, nonetheless a premium, but you already know what you're paying can't ding it for cost, but the 3.5" adapter was genuinely annoying to function with. Not only that, but the screws supplied didn't match the drive itself either on one whole side.

My second attempt was completely prosperous .. and effortless. I Received my RMA unit (a new one) and attempted a various install strategy this time. I required this ssd on my XP main program that I use for each video processing and MS Flight Simulator. Paragon has a utility named "Migrate OS to SSD" for ร and it clones reside from Windows XP, aligning and adjusting the partition size. I did NOT need to have to reset SATA in the bios to AHCI ... which shocked me. This drive is Quick ... click - click - click. I'm one particular happy camper ..... so far. OCZ truly desires to expand the documentation they supply .... which is written on about the size of a cigarette paper and is totally inadequate and incomplete. Yeah ... you can get it on the web, but I don't want to have to hunt down the facts when I spend 趚 for a tiny tricky drive. Paragon "Migrate OS to SSD" seems a worthwhile investment as ssds come down in price tag. Several folks would try an ssd if they could preserve their existing install. This software would do that as nicely as leave you with a full backup ... your old drive. If OCZ was market place smart they would incorporate a copy of Migrate OS to SSD in special offerings.

Modest, comes with a 3.5" bracket I'm a system builder so I have the background to do this, but the directions that come with this are dismal. No logical method .... and OCZs web page makes it seem that there are a lot of "Gotchas", which I don't really have time for. My program is two years old. But, I initialized, formatted, made Active, and developed a image of my present XP boot drive and made the switch. Now I regularly get the BSOD. I tried in a second program ... same factor. I Googled ... no aid right here. I named OCZ Tech Support ... no answer, guess they're busy. I emailed help and am awaiting an answer. I searched OCZs Library .. and Forum, and Stickys. Nothing stands out that would support. My Vertex is totally non-accessible. So I RMAd' the Vertex 2 back to Newegg as I figure it's quicker. I'm hoping the subsequent 1 will be much better ... if not, I'm recommending to my clients they steer clear of this item. But if they insist ... conserve their existing boot drive just in case. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry that you have had problems. Installation of SSD drives does not need something particular, as long as you are working with a newer OS such as Win7 or a newer linux distribution. Following the steps to set up a normal tough drive will have you up and running. Rapid...I consider? Initial boot and install of Win7 64-Bit went well. Drive died 48 hours later. This is a two.5" Drive that ships with a three.5" adapter plate. The lengthy three.5" drive screws that shipped with my Antec 900 case do not match the thread pattern on this adapter plate.

Bought two of these to make a 5 drive 100gb raid array. Had to give one to a friend since I didn't have adequate sata or molex adapter energy to connect the 5th drive. Extremely happy with what I have. Can't wait for the vertex 3's with correct sata 3 speeds! Ssd's are nevertheless in the pricey range for tech that is no longer bleeding edge and are becoming far more frequent in systems now. I have to make a comment on the realssd c300's by important. To get full efficiency out of their ssd's, you have to obtain the 256gb model. With the sandforce line, no matter what capacity drive you have, you get the exact same performance. And the second gen of the marvell sata three is following the similar routine. High capacity for high performance. When the vertex three's show up, They are going to put foot to rear finish on marvell's cash grab.

Quite rapid little drive. Included 2.five" to 3.five" bracket created installation into desktop case a breeze. Gotta really like the sandforce controller, read/write speeds were on par with advertised (mb/s, tested with HD Tune). Win7 recognized SSD in the course of installation and disabled auto-defrag and enabled TRIM by default. Superior support from OCZ forums if you will need it and you know OCZ will be quick with firmware updates if any issues should arise with the new (yet untested) sandforce controller. None. It's a shame the drive will price half as significantly (or less) this time subsequent year (or sooner). But that's the price you pay for bleeding edge. Be certain to enable AHCI or RAID in bios prior to operating program install and install the most recent Intel chipset and RST drivers (if you use an Intel based MB that is).System: i7 920 @ 4.2mHz on Asus P6T. 12 gig ram. Saturates SATA-II speeds. Incredibly low access times. None, aside from being pricey, but who cares about that if you are purchasing. :) Was contemplating acquiring two 50GB Vertex two's for a RAID0 setup, but TRIM is not however supported via the actual RAID. Even though I think you can run software program to maintain the RAID working just fine and dandy, I'd rather not worry about maintenance. =]

-Awesome speeds-Boots Windows 7 Pro in 15-20 seconds-TRIM support out of the box-three year manufacturer warranty-Allowed my laptop to run much cooler-Silent -Gigabyte per dollar (or dollar per gigabyte in this case) ratio is still quite high, but for a SSD you are expected to pay a premium Superb drive, made my 3 year old dying laptop feel brand new once more. My laptop had a motherboard failure recently which I was prepared to blame on the lately installed SSD but it turned out to be a defective GPU. SSD performs even far better on my new machine! Highly recommended as the drive has decent amount of memory and maintains extraordinary speeds.

Quickly, three year warranty (and you'll most likely want it!) Not dependable About 6 months on unit ş. I thought, oh well it can occur . . . It is insanely rapidly drive with stable sequential reads and writes over 260 MB/s without having a doubt 1 of the fastest drives ever!!!! (for now anyway) It does degrade but this is to be expected of any mlc and the rate at which degrades is based on how abusive u are I'm a CS student working on a selection of projects and after 1-two weeks my reads/writes went down to 220s, also MAC doesn't support TRIM so as of now all mac users as soon as in a while immediately after remove the drive hook it up to an external enclosure connected to a windows machine and do secure-erase which will tell the controller to mark all the cells as deleted, (DON'T ZERO OUT THE CELLS!!!) to regain performance, yep its a genuine discomfort but I know apple is working on TRIM and as soon as they released it ought to not longer be an issue ... Running on 2010 15" core i7 macbook pro, u will notice degration when the program hangs for a couple of seconds, when saving points or writing this is since rewriting to a cell that has getting already becoming written causes issue because the nature of all mlc

Cons: Write speed is not the same on the paper

Pros: Fast, cheap price, come with adapter
Comment:
Got it on a special price at 169$ mail in rebate. Waiting to get an other one for Raid 0 for 500mb/s ish speed. Should be really fast for low price. It come with a adapter for 3.5 so it is a very good buy overall. Windows boot time is 13 sec wich is about the same as my old 7200 hard drive, but otherwise app open real fast.

Cons: none so far

Pros: Fast boot and without any issues
Comment:
Upgraded to this from the OCZ Vertex Turbo 120GB. Cloned my OS and booted up. This is definitely faster and more responsive. Controller seem stable and my system is running without any issues. Too bad NCIX does not carry a SATA2 switch to make an easy multiple boot system. That is how I will be comparing times for all 3 SSD
